Overload Confirmed

Well, time to sit down and re-evaluate. My brain can't shift gears like I've been making it for the past eight hours, going from planning a story to working on calculus, then english, followed by physics, to finish on typing up the first chapter of said story. It came to the point of where I couldn't type up an opening paragraph that felt satisfactory. Essentially I think tonight I will just sit down, read some more fics I've had saved for a while, (about 150 of them) and give my brain a rest. my classes have been cancelled for tomorrow, meaning the only thing I have to do is go workout with my ROTC unit and eat. I think that tomorrow I will return to typing the first chapter of "Paper Sun" and hopefully get it up tomorrow afternoon. "By the Books" is taking longer, largely to do with the fact that I'm working on planning out the character I plan to use in it. Since they are largely OC's, I don't have a preset character to work with, which while fun and gives me certain freedoms, it doesn't make for easy writing. Example being "Kill What's left of My Modesty." [spoilers] Most of the reader's will likely be familiar with Vinyl and Octavia as a shipping pair, thus I don't need to elaborate and built upon it extensively and from the ground up. Instead I could add snippets from my proposed history of them and focus solely on the loss and pain of Octavia as she reels from Vinyl's death. [/spoilers] I'm going to use "Paper Sun" like a stepping stone, working on building a bit more relationship, but since my intended ship is one that the fandom is fairly familiar with, I won't have to coax it into existence as much. My final step will be to write "By the Books" which is my first fic's latest reincarnation. It is a project that has been near and dear to me. What started as a Night guard getting attacked by a hydra and then somehow getting with Luna (it wasn't very well thought out) to a night guard being selected for a specialized squad hoofpicked by Luna herself, to now. A detective dealing with the politics of the police station while trying to catch a serial killer taunting him and eventually killing his family. I don't what to give it all away but it still ends with him and Luna shacking up in the same bed. Anyway, 0545 comes early and I need some sleep. 22 Jan Notice: I didn't find this important enough to throw into a whole other blog post, but I think I'm going to sit back and just focus on school work today and read. Give my brain some time to work up to the ideal creative threshold before I start typing up a storm again. Perhaps later this week I will feel up to writing something.
