What a wonderful relationship we as a community have with Hasbro. Sarcasm self-test complete.
One moment we're singing their praises for all their excellent and endearing work, for the amazing show and continued products, the next we're going off the rails over a couple of YouTube takedowns that have been required of them by law as if it's a personal attack on the community.
It surprises me just how quick some people can turn and bite the hand that feeds them. Hasbro didn't have to wait as long as they did before they pulled the videos. They could have pulled them the day they came up on YouTube. They could have fined Sherclop an exorbitant amount of money, even took him to court for the use of their material, but guess what? Hasbro didn't. They only did what was required of them, nothing more.
In case you were wondering, yes I did see the FiW series before it was taken down, and I liked it. But the fact remains that you shouldn't get all bent out of shape over a company bound by U.S. copyright law taking down videos with their material in them.
One slightly ticked-off Alicorn_Avionics, over-'n-out.
I know this comment is a bit late, but FiW was protected under copyright law as a parody. Its just that YouTube has a guilty until proven innocent attitude, and is very quick to give out copyright strikes.
