Star Symbols are the Guardians of the planet Earth. They are like gods, so to speak. Each is different in his or her own way. Some are disguised as creatures with the mindset to survive the world, others can be sages the live purely alone, and some are even disguised as ponies. They all seem to be connected psychologically, each understanding the other's thoughts. They have servants that are called Stars. Stars, such as Polaris, are not as powerful as the Symbols, but they are needed, nonetheless. Polaris is the Librarian of Prophecies, and he knows each and every detail of what they speak of, but he is not given the whole story.
The Star Symbols not only have servants, but they also have representatives. Prince Merciful is actually one of their representatives, and he is blessed with useful abilities: Receiving visions of the future through dreams, and he also can see through your lies. Which he finds quite useful as the Royal Judge. How it works is simple, Merciful just needs to make eye contact and he can find your true motives. Magi is also a representative in his own way as making the Elements of Harmony.
Star Symbols not only guard and for tell futures, but they also craft great artifacts of unimaginable power. The Scepter of Kronos was one of the many Artifacts, but it was given to the wrong hands, and the world was dominated by the Emperor Kronos. The Star Symbols, at first, saw that Kronos had the intention to rule in peace, but a chaotic being named Fate temped and manipulated Kronos' intention and they became less careless on giving artifacts of power to...humans.
