Fancy Pants wants to go into business with Rarity

I was just watching sweet and elite, and I'm beggining to that Fancy Pants may be a lot more clever than I originally gave him credit for. He identified Rarity's chocolate perfume, is the one who originally bumped into her, liked her bad dress, and was in Ponyville for an unknown reason during "Too Many Pinkies".
What if Fancy Pants ran into Rarity on purpose, for the sake of.... I don't know. Maybe he just recognized her talent and wanted to be on her good side? If he was smart enough, he could of planned the entire thing and played everypony else into sucking up to her? Maybe he was banking on her embarrasing herself some how so he could play the white knight, which he did admirably?
