Rolling Ideas For the Future · 1:45pm May 21st
Yo. Been a minute huh?
Thought I'd give you guys an update. At the moment, I've managed to pass the semester, and it wasn't even a barely. I passed, and by a small margin. Things aren't going to get much easier, but I'm hoping to at the bare minimum to post at least one chapter a month, maybe 2. I wanted to write a couple chapters and events, but unfortunately, I might not have the time. Too many commissions on my plate, and I just managed to recover from the nonsense of the semester.
As I've been working on my new commissions and His Moonlight, Her Starshine, I have been thinking about some ideas for SFW and NSFW stories to do after I finish them on top of Legends of the Jade Empress. I know I shouldn't look out too far, but I can't help it. I get really daydream-ing and I don't have control of where it goes. It did give me an idea, however.
I want to do two potential ideas in the future. I want to try my hand at a crossover, and I want to try a Human in Equestria story. An MLP-sekai, if you will. Something to do for fun. These two ideas have been rolling around my skull for a while, and I considered that maybe I should try them when I have a chance. Considering I already love shoving references into my stories, I might as well go full hog and try. I'll keep the details sparse, but let me know which of the two genres you'd be interested in first. I'll give more details when I finish His Moonlight, Her Starshine.
Also, unrelated, but I'll also be aiming towards trying other fandoms, to further refine my limited talent. I do want to eventually try original fiction one day.
Anyways, back to work. See you all around!
Excitement and passion is good — don't shame yourself for indulging in it, revel in that energy and desire to create. <3
There one silly thing I thought of recently, due to a lot of life events and people — anticipation is like taking a bunch of credit card debt for future disappointment. And as long as you're ready to either default on that and not worry, since the loan was from yourself, or to actually pay it off properly, then you're fine. It's just as dangerous to say you can't ever spend as excitement or joy, as expecting everything to work out as you hope.
I think you do a good job of knowing what your priorities are and what you can get done — (yay commission work ethic, looking forward to those at the least!!) — and that your school and self-care are more important — so keep being hopeful on all those cool fun ideas you have.
Meta-discussion and tone-policing aside; Human in Equestria is always lovely when you have something fresh for it. You're very inventive with characters, so I really doubt it'll just be a depressed self-insert who somehow finds love and saves the world because humans are so cool when the rest of Earth isn't holding them back. ...or it would at least be silly and hot the way you do it.
Crossovers are neat, but it's hard to judge interest without having an idea of what other setting/characters you're considering!
Anyway congrats (again) on being a smarty studier, keep it up.
