The Equalization Process ( Story Idea )

Hey! It’s been awhile,

This was something on my mind for awhile, even as a kid watching the “The Cutie Map” episode about Starlights village intrigue me. I rewatched it recently and thought of coming up with a story. Though admittedly I didn’t know what I’d necessarily do for it. What I mean by that is that there are thousands of stories out there about starlights village and I wanted to write something interesting and enjoyable without accidentally making another “Starlights village bad” story. Because there are very good stories out there and I wanted to make sure if i was going to spend who know how long on this, that it would be something worth while. There were a few ideas that I came up with during the beginning stages but this was the one I stuck with the most:

“Cobalt shine has always been a troubled pegasus colt, born off the streets of Manehattan. There, life never treated him well. Being abused by his mother and his father being gone left him with little to no options when it came to family. Bullying in school about being a blank flank while also being shunned in social settings left him with little to no friends. After a family dispute Cobalt was sent to live with his uncle, only to end up in a very strange part of Equestria, entirely across the country and in the middle of nowhere. Cobalt doesn’t know what to do and he wanders until he stumbles into a small village. And walking into it, Cobalt has never felt so welcome and loved in his whole life! There’s no yelling, no swearing, no threat of being trotted over if he didn’t look both ways, just a calm sweet little town with a size bale amount of ponies, compared to the thousands back home. But the weird uncanny feeling that the village gives him sways him a little bit on how much he trusts the ponies around him. Because even with all the smiles and warm welcomes he there still something that feels…. wrong. When he finds his uncle, Copper Zinc, the realization of just how foreign and strange both he and the towns ponies are start to weigh down on him. when he meets the leader and founder Starlight Glimmer, her charming voice and calm demeanor soothes his uncertainty. But the questions swarming in the little colts mind still leave him wondering on what exactly is going on. But this is the only place where he had ever felt so safe in his entire life. With all their smiles and bright attitudes it genuinely doesn’t erase the fact that these ponies seem to genuinely like him. Even when some ponies seem unhappy, with just a passing glance they brighten back up… almost as if there’s something to hide. Will he actually call this place home?, will he figure out what’s truly going on?, or is he just another pony apart of the unnamed Equalization Process.”

Basically, it was going to be like a “diary” of sorts. Like 100 days in starlights village or a full 365 days.I also thought it would be interesting to write about how a blank flank wandering into the village would play out. As we’ve seen in AppleBloom’s episode where she first meets the other CMC, that you cannot make a cutie mark happen. So does this mean that Starlight would have to wait until he eventually does get one? And then take it off and replace it with the equality symbol? Or will she brute force a destiny onto him a non existent destiny that he never chose?….This story is going to mention abuse that has happened towards Cobalt and his upbringing before going to starlights village including manipulation. So The story will be for teens but not mature ( Pg 13 ). I am still busy with school life and such so I cannot promise this story anytime soon, but this is something that will be continued and made whenever I have time, which will come out chapter by chapter. I may do a few stories in the meantime? Who knows but this will definitely be a main focus.
