Ending 2023, And Beyond

Hey all, long time no see! Happy New Year! Figured I should drop in and finally let y'all know what's been going on.

So, obviously I've been a tad bit busy and sick, but I promise I am still writing. My irl job works 45 hours a week, so that takes a lot of time and energy. Also, conventions! Oh gosh, I cannot explain the amount of fun and thrill I had at my (first ever) Ponyville Ciderfest. I had originally intended to do a whole blog about my time there, but sadly things got away from me. Immediately after the con I got a cold, followed by my first-ever bought with Covid, with side-effects lingering for several weeks after. Was cleared up and healthy enough to go to Midwest Fur Fest too, though I masked up the entire time.

After that, the holiday season and everything that entails came around (I'll spare y'all the details on that one), followed up by another case of Covid, as well as a double ear infection, which I'm still fighting off now.

So yeah, it's been fun, to say the least.

That being said, while it has taken me longer than I had hoped, I have not been idle either! So here's a brief thing:

Light and Darkness: The next chapter is written! I am going to give it a couple edit passes over the next few days (I don't actually have any pre-readers or anything), and I'm hoping to have it posted by Friday at the latest barring any glaring issues.

Fire and Lightning: Promise I haven't forgotten! Now that the next chapter of L&D is in the editing stage, I've already started mapping this out. I do currently intend for it to be a bit smaller scale, I'm currently thinking of doing several short-ish chapters (4-5k words) but I haven't sold myself on it yet. Another idea I'm entertaining is doing one large (or like, two or three) larger chapters with some time jumps. It will play second fiddle to my main fic, but I promise I am getting work done on it!

I have a few other story ideas that I have on the backburner, simply to make sure I don't overwhelm myself and can keep up on everything.

My current hopes are to post at least 1 chapter of L&D a month this year; hopefully more, but baby steps y'know? F&L I'm hoping to get rolling by the end of January, the schedule dependent on how I decide to write the story.
