Mane 6's age · 10:12pm Oct 9th, 2023
Probably one of the most asked questions in the fandom, I know, but does anyone have an idea how old the mane 6 are? And how many years had passed from season 1 to season 9 (discounting the epilogue)? I think Fluttershy's older than Pinkie by a year. From what many people said, it also seems around 3 years have passed since the first episode
I think the general consensus is early 20s for most of them. I would watch Banquo0's video about it.

It might contraditic what I said, but it's still a good video and might help you better. Than again it's your headcannon, so
There is actually one scene in the show that gives us an indication of Rainbow's age at least, as we see her birthday cake during 'Pinkie Pride':
At 20:15 min we see her cake with 21 candles in front and though we only see the front side, if the candles are somewhat evenly spread it should hold around 32 candles (maybe 1-2 more or less depending on what you think).
The rest of the Mane 6 should be at a similar age, as we see them at similar stages in their development. The only other fact that we know is that Fluttershy is a year older than Pinkie (she says so during 'Griffon the Brush off' at 14:40 min)
However, it begs the real question of how time works in Equestria, if their time matches ours at all. Does a year on Equos have 365 days? The days seem to be the same length, but who can be sure? With the ponies both controlling days and the seasons, they could have adjusted the year to any length they liked. So even if Rainbow is around 32 years old at her party, does that even correspond to 32 years Earth time? It also doesn't help that we really don't know how much time has passed during the show. As shown in the video posted by WumboKo we have seen a set amount of winters, though we can't be sure if that's all the winters that have passed, we were just maybe not shown all of them.
Finally, we do know that time on Equos seems to flow differently from Earth, as we see Sunset going through the mirror when Twilight was not yet Celestia's student, thus still a little filly, yet when Twilight comes to Canterlot High they are both teenagers in high school (at least I hope so, it would be pretty creepy otherwise ). So any ages gathered from Equestria Girls are probably meaningless.
These are my thoughts regarding time in Equestria, hope my thoughts can help you at least a bit .

Thank you for the responses. Personally, always thought they were in their twenties, and Equestria Girls confused me so much when I saw it

Admittedly, I am unsure how much we can even trust the clues the show gives us. I just remembered the flashback scene during Parental Glideance at 17:30 min.
In it we see Rainbow competing with other pegasi and even though she says that she was the youngest I can't imagined that they are too far appart, age wise at least. But some of the featured pegasi are Sorin and Spitfire, who seem to be her Senior by quite some time in the Wonderbolts. So either they both managed to join the Wonderbolts much earlier than Rainbow did, or it just doesn't make sense in this regard.
The scene has other problems, for example it shows a young Lightning Dust in second place. But when she and Rainbow meet during Wonderbolt Academy they both act like they never met and it's unlikely at least one wouldn't remember the other, as they were both at the top of the competitive circle .
So all in all I'm not sure how much we can even trust canon, so what makes sense in your head is probably just as right .

Yeah, I just noticed Lightning Dust too, never paid attention before. I'm sure the writers could give their age if they were asked to, but I doubt they even had an age in mind when making the show because of the inconsistencies
