I'm writing a story where Sunset comes through the portal around age 10 and finds a family and becomes friends with the main 6 pretty early on. However, I don't know how to start the story! I have three possible ways it can start.
1) Sunset falls through the portal and is quickly seen by an adult. She is forced to explain everything and after a long convo she is taken to their house to start a better life.
2) Same as above, but we don't see the convo Sunset has with the adult. We would just get a summary of what happened as Sunset gets in their car.
3) Story starts with Sunset entering her new house. We would hear/read a summary of what happened and the characters would discuss Sunsets situation, but that's it.
Which option would you rather see? I'm partial to option 2 or 3 since I really want to get to Sunset meeting the girls and all the cute, and sometimes sad, moments as they grow up.
I like 2 or 3 as well.
I would say to go with 2, because it skips most of the heavy exposition that the audience would already know, but would allow the needed stuff, such as why the adults even believe Sunset in the first place, to be shown.
