    Book Fort

It was Collection Picture time on EqD recently. This time I built a book fort. It's not even all the books. I was afraid more books would cause the structure to collapse. I also have a lot more swag, but how to take a coherent picture? I gave up on achieving that years ago. I need more books.

    The Adventures of Fluttertin

This was for NATG X in 2020, the mobile pony prompt. Applejack might have been a better Tintin stand-in.

Auto-everything, point and shoot photography, is it art or is the death of gainful employment for artists?

    Equestrian Stories 2019

I hope the Twilight's Book Nook booth at Everfree Northwest was a sell-out success. I also hope there are leftovers of PONY Legacy so I can snag one, although I suspect it could become available via Lulu if it did sell out.

Newbie Artist Training Grounds, 13th edition · 1:26pm Jun 17th, 2023

The 13th edition of the Newbie Artist Training Grounds is in full swing on Equestria Daily. Give it a try! It's looking a lot like participation is continuing to wane slowly, year after year. The prompts are still idiom rich and situational, more apt for drabbles than drawing improvement pointers. Case in point, yesterday it was: "Draw a pony lining their pockets / Draw a pony finding a silver lining". Several people said they did not know what either prompt meant. 'Draw embezzlement'. 'Draw the positive aspect of a bad situation'. Really now. Calpain shouldn't be passing off idioms as drawing prompts. Even if you preferred to extract the action from the prompt and draw that action, "lining" is not an action in and of itself. So I twisted the whole silver lining on clouds thing.

Remember Hurricane Fluttershy, how Cloudsdale collects groundwater for cloud production? Well some of that water could contain leached silver. That silver would get into the clouds, and when the sun hits the cloud just right, a silver lining appears! Ergo, silver refinery, pegasus style. TEAKAY C II R also knew where to find a silver lining, but they had a different head canon. See https://www.deviantart.com/teakay-c-ii-r/art/2023-NATG-day-9-Finding-the-Silver-Lining-967490059
