Coming back after like forever

I recently came back to this site after being mostly absent for several years.

Mainly, I came back because I realized how few and far between full-on stories that revolve around characters I'm familiar with and the fetish content I'm into were, and logged onto this account that I made to match with all my other nsfw accounts but that I never really did much with.

Main observation, with the knowledge of how fanfiction and literature works I've gained over the years:
The way ratings and tags are used when it comes to any mature, sexual, or fetish content is pretty scuffed. I don't think its worth it to give anybody grief over it, but in hindsight, I don't think I should've been on this site from ~11-14. I mean, at least on other sites, even if they don't outright ban sexual content involving underage characters, they at least have a designated warning/tag for it so avoiding it is easier for those who are understandably distressed by it.

To be clear, I'm not saying I have a problem with the mature filter existing and being able to be turned on/off with just a "confirm you're over legal age" button. I understand there's only so much a website can reasonably be expected to do to avoid showing nsfw/sensitive content to unprepared readers, and the "click this button to confirm you're 18 or older" window is basically common practice. I'm not beefing with anyone over that today or any time. My issue is that restricting mature content doesn't actually keep nsfw off your screen. I've seen a good few fics rated teen and without the sex tag that still contains fully written and detailed masturbation scenes, which doesn't make much sense even according to fimfiction's own answer to "What defines whether a story is rated Teen or Mature?"

Is that something that I could actually report, or is it one of those things no one bothers with/just accepts as part of this site? I'll probably still read on here, as I'm an adult now and can handle myself better than I could before, but I kinda wish I wasn't on here as a kid. There's a non-zero chance that it actually messed me up a bit.

At least I could return to some fics I had fond memories of, I guess
