A Battle Remembered after 82 Years · 2:17pm Jun 5th, 2023
Yesterday, June 4th, a day remembered in America and world history, and Naval history, was a day that I like to refer to as Midway day.
I know that no such day exists at all, but the reason I call it that is because it's remembered as the day America and Japan fought for control in the Pacific ocean, during a three-day conflict between the 4th, when the Japanese made their first move, and the 7th, when we lost the USS Yorktown (CV-5), the USS Hammann, and 42 brave fighter pilots from Torpedo Squadrons 6, 3, and 8, all in one monumental day... a day where thousands of young men sacrificed their lives for their services to their countries, a day known as the Battle For Midway.
