For any wondering, don't worry; I'm safe where I am (and on standby to boogie should that safety be jeopardized), though seeing that giant plume of smoke on my way back home yesterday was pretty spooky. Fortunately, I had plenty of time to charge up an old DSLR and take some telephoto snaps of the skyscape before the sun set, with a particular focus on the sun itself.

A little darker than I'd prefer, but I'll chalk that up to dramatic effect and my novice futzing with manual aperture & ISO settings. I am many things, but photographer is not one of them.
Suffice to say, my May release target for the finale of Rider on the Storm may be delayed by a bit because of all this. What can 'ya do?
