    New Stories, WIP

The following two fanfics are incomplete and are a work in progress. However I decided to still post them here so they don’t seem outdated later.

Both were created in 2023 but will have some re-writes and redrafting in 2024. But I’ll only work on them if they have enough interest. Enjoy if you want.

Before I begin. I wanted to say I’m blown away by the support for Hitch-ing the Trailblazer into the Zipp-ing Storm.

Every time I released a chapter the views doubled. With that kind of rate, I would imagine it reached a goal I was hoping for.

An MLP story that was for everyone. Not just bronies. Or even just someone who saw G5, but even casual fans who could enjoy it.

Now with that out of the way I wanted to continue this with the future in mind.

I actually have several fanfic ideas in mind. Most of them are romance stories. Which if I’m going to be honest does kind of worry me.

I mean I get it I’m a sucker for romance stories. But at the same time, I don’t exactly want romance to be so prominent in my writing that you could basically guess the next story with a game of mad libs.

That’s actually one of my rules in writing btw. “Disregard the first thing you think.”

It’s actually a rule in Pixar’s writing as well. The point is that if you can guess where the story is going to go. There’s no point in releasing it if the story is over in the mind of the audience before it started.

The other problem is that I don’t want my name to be synonymous with writing romance. I want to be known for writing variety. Yes this includes, adventure, drama and whatever other genre.

I mean I do have other genre concepts in mind right now but even they can get concerning. Especially considering the only stories I have planned outside of the romance genre are prequels essentially.

Once again, I don’t want to be known just for writing prequels. I want to be known for writing variety.

It’s called type casting. It happens to every creative.

And yeah, that’s also why I want these MLP stories to appeal to a wider audience.

I mean I know it’s not exactly impossible to make an MLP story appeal to a non-brony.

That is how I wrote Hitch-ing the Trailblazer into the Zipp-ing Storm after all.

I wrote it with the mindset of non-bronies first. Actual bronies second. Hence why I made the story stand as a story on it’s own.

I even went as far as to not include some of G5’s lore in the story. And even if I did, I wanted to convey it in a way that wouldn’t alienate casual viewers.

This is also why I didn’t have an exact timeline set for it. The ship was also meant to stand on it’s own. Hence why I didn’t include references to tell your tale or make your mark.

With a few exceptions obviously but when I did include continuity, I usually try to explain it in a way that wouldn’t alienate non-bronies.

Usually, I make it a simple straightforward explanation that has grounding in reality. Like how said situation made the characters feel. Meaning despite the fact that it is an explanation I still have enough faith in my audience to interpret certain themes of said event or how the character would feel in said scenario.

This way of writing continuity I feel could catch anyone up on the story even if they are based in another show they haven’t seen. And it would take away the need to watch the official material. So, it saves time.

And then of course my last hope for this way of writing. Is that maybe non-bronies would be curious enough to watch the actual material anyway and become bronies themselves.

I guess what I’m saying is I want my MLP Stories to be diverse among all audiences.

And yeah, you might be wondering. If I’m so obsessed with being as diverse in media as possible while trying to please everyone. Why are you sticking to MLP media?

Well ok. I know GoBeyondPony is a thing. And in all seriousness, I have struggled with that. Channels as big as TheLostNarrator or Obabscribbler can get away with that because of how big their channels are.

Me. I have 166 subscribers on YT as of writing this journal. (As of posting it here I now have 190 subs hot damn. 0-0) and who knows how many others are on other websites? I mean it is a lot but not enough.

What I’m saying is that I don’t have that luxury. At least not yet. I know this because whenever I try to distance myself from MLP it usually doesn’t end well.

Whenever I do something like. Play video games, show what I’m good at, or whatever people aren’t as interested…

And more importantly. What’s the end goal here?

Honestly, I don’t know.

All I do know is that I don’t want to be stuck.

Anywhere.

Because in the realm of creativity that’s the ultimate dream. To go and do everything.
