OC Profile: Axel

Axel is a pony that comes from out of town along with his eccentric father, Sparking Rex, and his adopted dragon brother, Iggy. Axel was always unusual when it came to most unicorns, often getting into fights with bullies rather than use magic. In spite of this, he only did it coming to the aid of others. One day he got into a fight against bullies who picked on Melody Song, a fellow pony and aspiring songwriter he had a longtime crush on. Rushing to her aid, an incident occurred where he broke his horn. Feeling guilty for the incident, Melody put some distance between herself and Axel. Wanting a fresh start, Sparking Rex moved with Axel and Iggy to Ponyville. While reluctant at first, Rex put him through special training to "do everything like an Earth Pony" to make up for his handicap. In spite of his past, Axel remains easy-going most of the time, preferring to just explore town and hang out with Iggy. He can be friendly with others and had a somewhat childish immaturity to him, often ending his sentences by saying "yano" at the end. He can however go from laid-back to fiery whenever he sees somepony being treated unfairly. While he can't regularly use magic regularly, harnessing his magic with strong emotion causes an eruption that sends his body forward like a rocket along with a fiery explosion. Rex came to call this technique "Bursting" once Axel had mastered it. It is plainly a result of unstable magic due to his broken horn. Other would prefer Axel keep out of fights and live peacefully in Ponyville. He wants a special somepony in his life and trying to get over his past, but beep down still has strong feelings for Melody. Iggy often acts as a mediator for Axel, being unusually lazy and friendly by dragon standards.
