    Happy St. Patrick's Day🍀☘️

Currently doing a bar crawl in Downtown (ok so we started in Corktown and are making our way through any good AVAILABLE bar today) with some friends and a couple of co-workers of mine, who we unintentionally ran into. Turns out great minds think alike! Ironically I'm the "Uber Call Girl" tonight so...unfortunately can't get TOO wasted (plus I actually have work tomorrow...couldn't call off).

Top 10 Movies of 2022 (Bc I'll probably be too drunk in a little while to remember to do this) · 1:01am Jan 1st, 2023

You guys know the drill! I've been doing this for the last 6 years (nuts right?!?) and the response is always funny! Let's get this show on the road:

10.) The Whale (2022)
Honestly the only reason this one is so low is because I legit only saw it last night. It was playing in a theater near my place and I must say...that was a raw one. Brendan Fraser is ALWAYS a :yay: in my opinion and he was phenomenal in this role!

9.) The Batman (2022)
Admittedly, this was pretty bad. Yet it makes getting drunk with friends fun when you get to rip into it relentlessly (of course I had to truly wait til October to do that because--duh! I was pregnant until mid-September).

8.) Strange World (2022)
This one was...cute...in a weird way that is. Definitely not the best in recent years for Disney, but I can't blame them...the BIG stuff is coming in 2023 for the 100th anniversary.

7.) Black Adam (2022)
Okay before anyone says anything, yes my s/o saw this the same weekend that we saw Halloween Ends and I shamelessly was gawking at The Rock the entire time. The plot was...okay enough. Certainly could've focused more on certain aspects and was the Superman cameo at the end really necessary? Yes I'm still pissed that Henry Cavill is no longer gonna be Superman. That struck me like a branding iron...:twilightangry2:

6.) Halloween Ends (2022)
I can't say this enough. Give 👏🏽 Jamie Lee Curtis 👏🏽 ALL 👏🏽 the 👏🏽 AWARDS!!👏🏽👏🏽 What a way to end her tenure as the reigning Scream Queen! Giving Michael Myers his final curtain call for justice!!! Loved it!!

5.) Jordan Peele's NOPE (2022)
My gods was that good! I really can't say much else except top notch casting and gripping storyline!

4.) Guillermo del Toro's Pinocchio (2022)
I had to specify which one because there were, weirdly 3 adaptations of the story of Pinocchio this year...and 2 of them were shit! This is the only one that was worth a damn to watch and it was really good!

3.) Turning Red (2022)
I was honestly surprised that this was as good as it was (and for Disney, that's REALLY saying something)! Then again, this was Disney/Pixar...they track record together has been a weird rollercoaster one. Yet Turning Red delivered on partial nostalgia (it's a sad thing that 2002 is now considered nostalgia), relatability and fantasy that made it most enjoyable! And yes. The soundtrack has been stuck in my head for 9 months.

2.) Elvis (2022)
Say what you want, but NEVER disrespect the legacy of Elvis Presley by saying this was bad!! It was really good all things considered! Sure a few...creative liberties had to be made, but that's just Hollywood for ya! C'est la vie!

Honorary Mentions:
Minions: The Rise of Gru (2022)
It was cute. There I said it. Annoying, but cute.

Thor: Love and Thunder (2022)
It was good! Yeah there was some...awkward bits, but still. Gotta admit Natalie Portman and Chris Hemsworth played off one another beautifully!

And this year we actually have another TIE gentle audience! The number 1 movies for 2022 are...

1.) Black Panther: Wakanda Forever (2022) & Avatar: The Way of Water (2022):
Ironic that two sequels are my dual number 1s this year. One we've been waiting over a DECADE for and the other a beautiful tribute to not only a fallen hero, but a beautiful human being. I went into watching Wakanda Forever with the knowledge that I'd probably cry and wasn't prepared to do most of it at the beginning! The plot was pretty solid I must admit. I wasn't prepared for the sheer brilliance that was Avatar: The Way of Water! Once again, James Cameron blows it out of the water (pun unintended)! I LOVED it!!

Well that's it for 2022 y'all! Let's get somewhere cozy and dry/warm and watch a NYE ball party (or do as I do and GO to a party...as I'm trying this, I'm waiting on my Uber to take me and my s/o downtown to MGM Grand Casino. My friends' work is having a party there tonight and he invited us). Have a safe one y'all!
