2/10: Something is on fire! It’s a dumpster fire!
1/10: Mayday! Mayday! The season is rotting away!

Greetings, everyone! This is Mr. J back with another season review for this evening. Tonight, I will be reviewing the seventh season of “Star Wars: The Clone Wars” released on Disney+. Considering the fact that this season had its own story, structure, and plot, I figured that it would be best to review this season alone as everything came to a solid conclusion at the end thereof. After seeing this season for the first time on Disney+, I was both blown away by the story and amazed by how everything was well-written from start to finish.

This season continues where the series left off: the on-going battle between the forces of the Galactic Republic and the Separatists. With the Clone Wars soon drawing to a near close, things take a drastic turn when Darth Maul returns to carry out his own plans. Ahsoka Tano plays a major role in turning the tide.

Seeing this has three major arcs therein, I will be explaining what I thoroughly enjoyed about all three of them:

The Bad Batch arc: I don’t know about anyone else, but the Bad Batch are now some of my favorite Star Wars characters! The moment they first appeared on screen and displayed their respective personalities, I instantly fell in love with them. Dee Bradley Baker did a great job giving each BB clone a distinct voice to tell them apart.

The whole arc was absolutely fun to watch. It was full of great character growth, interesting dialogue, and awesome surprises. I was really happy to see clone trooper Echo again, and seeing the way he survived his “death” from the earlier seasons was honestly shocking. Luckily for him, he has a new family to look after and be a part of. This entire arc was the main reason why I checked out their own series and why I’m enjoying that show at the moment. Gosh, I can’t wait for season 2 to be released!

The Martez Sisters’ arc: There has been a lot of hate around these particular characters from the majority of the fandom. Frankly, I don’t see why these characters are hated so much. Granted, they may be a little annoying, and the whole arc may feel like pointless filler, but for the most part….I really love these characters. Their interaction with Ahsoka was really interesting to look at, and I do wish we get to see them again in future Star Wars content.

I think the point of the arc was to show how cruel the criminal underworld is, and being tangled with them will end very badly if one is not careful enough. Besides, it was amazing to see Ahsoka again years after she left the Jedi Order.

She went through so much in her life alongside her master Anakin Skywalker, and after everything she’s been through, the Jedi Council accused her of a crime she didn’t commit, and she suffered for it. It makes sense why she left the order out of her own choice. So seeing her operate as an ex-Jedi was very intriguing.

The Final Arc: Now this is the moment we’ve all been waiting for! And yes, my friends, it was indeed worth the hype. Now, let me talk about Maul for a second: ever since his first appearance in “The Phantom Menace”, he was nothing more than a generic brute with little character and less screen time. He was an uninspiring antagonist at best up until he came back with a vengeance…literally.

Thanks to Dave Filoni, his character became a lot more intriguing and more fleshed-out. Throughout his major appearances in the season 4 finale and the season 5 Mandalore-centered episodes, he became one of the most compelling, intimidating, and well-written villains in the entire franchise. So seeing his grand return in this season was awesome as it was before. Oh, and to fill in the gaps between this season and his previous capture by Darth Sidious in season 5, check out some info from the “Darth Maul: Son of Dathomir” comics. It’s some really interesting stuff there.

Anyway, the fight choreography was flawless, the voice acting was immaculate, and the animation was great as always.

Everything was wrapped up perfectly to have all the events shown here line up with the simultaneous events of “Revenge of the Sith”. It makes Order 66 and the last interaction between Anakin and Ahsoka all the more heartbreaking to watch. All this build-up led up to what we see in the actual movie. But, as a cherry on top, it was a relief to see Ahsoka find a way to remove the chip from Captain Rex. And thus, they witness the end of the war, and the beginning of the Galactic Empire.

To that, I say….it is a well-done masterpiece. This definitely gets a solid 10/10! I can’t think of a better way to conclude this show. It was worth watching, emotional, fun, amazing, and perfect in every way. I’m so happy that I checked this out.

Peace out, folks!

What they did to Echo... That breaks the laws of war

The corporate leaders of the CIS like Nute Gunray, and Wat Tambor don't give a shit with the "laws" of warfare.

So, they had it coming when Anakin/Vader cut them all down on Mustafar. :pinkiecrazy:
