First thought:
You get those marecels
why do i feel the kiss will escalate
lol I know what it is like to be in anons shoes and lose MTG games and have no clue where things went wrong
Hell yes!
That image on derpibooru (2643756) "Fattest teats in Canterlot" Cut N. Paste is coming up! Nice.
As an avid Magic the gathering player myself I loved this chapter. Also it only just occurred to me what card Cut played to win the game. Coalition Victory if I’m not mistaken. Well at least Cut didn’t win with some combo that Anon couldn’t even interact with. Looking forward to seeing Cut own some noobs with her sweet skills and even sweeter coltfriend. You get em girl!
Anon & Pike have Awoken the Vengeful Nerd to get that Flawless Victory!!!
How many chapters long will this story be?
11107836
It would be hilarious if it did!

Not really sure, yet. We'll see when we get there!
Oh, this tournament is gonna be fun to read about.
I'm already in suspense.
Cut is a filthy liar of the worst stripe! The kind that lies with the truth! She's an avid Magic/Cyber player: she's always tweaking and tinkering with them to keep them relevant!
Hell yes.
Control? Uh oh!
You have no idea of the frustration I your immediate future!
As a player of literally any other color, I am well-aware of the old adage;
If it's Blue, your match is through.
Oh lord...killer nerd ponies from the local milfs basement.
So this is where the Tournament Arc greentext is getting put into the story.
PREPARE FOR CUT N' PASTE, FATTEST TEATS IN CANTERLOT.
Any person who plays blue is a fucking degenerate. Now if you'll excuse me I'm going to go play my blue black mil rouge deck. Good day sir!
Show em, Cut. Pwn those noobs good!
Mhm
Oh ho ho, was that you Cut
She was there
It was her, Cut started the brawl
Should be fun
So, asking seriously here, but is it like, common for Magic players to have no concept of sportsmanship?
Ok, so in this chapter Cut finished Anon with a Seamless Merger card, that works only in full multicolored deck. Ok. Then why in later chapters she said to Blueblood that she don't have much experience in multicolored decks, when she finished him?

Cut may have subtly used that to give Anon a fighting chance at beating her. She probably was going against his wish to not take it easy on him before they started playing even before the start of the chapter. We only saw that she got caught up in the excitement of winning the game.

You oughta see the hissy fits some teens/early 20s throw after losing in a Smash bros tournament. There's some on YouTube. I think the most memorable one was the guy clutching a Pokémon plushy like it was his life preserver.
Card reminds me of The Cheese Stands Alone. Not in terms of victory conditions, but rather in terms of the sudden unexpected victory.

It depends on the person. Everyone that I play with is a ruleshark ,including myself, but none of us get salty or are bad sports unless we get locked out where we can do literally nothing but watch.
Oh dis gon' be fun!
This better end with Anon underneath Cut preferably on the Cyber table.
we're getting a yu-gi-oh arc?
will the power of having sex pull through over the basement dwellers?
find out next time on The Long and Short of it

I would file that under "no concept of sportsmanship": Games are meant to be played, not merely observed. There shouldn't be a rule against building decks liked that, but players ought to have the decency not to build them.
(Of course, even if they don't build them, sometimes luck is just bad, and in those cases the player who wins ought to have the decency to be unhappy that they won because the dice came up right rather than any kind of skill)
11108239
People who are really into games like this will often build decks just to build them, and Anon really, really sucks ass at Cyber.
I also forgor

IT'S TIME TO DU-DU-DU-DU-DU-DU-DU-DU-DU-DUEL!
I don't play card games. But it's cool to see it's a game of probability.
I never watched yugiho. But hearing that guy talk about his blue eyes white dragon makes me cringe.
Not as good as a red cheek yellow mouse!
Seeing all of these people talking about Yu-Gi-Oh as if that was the first major TCG and not Magic makes a small part of me die inside. And I don't even play Magic...
You mean this exists there? 👇

While I don't play the game myself, I have joined as moral support with some friends that were participating in local tournaments. There is plenty of "sportmanship" within the community, but when shit gets toxic, it is corrosive.
Just about two tables away, there was this teen that clearly lost the game and he proceeded to call out the other older guy on (stuff that should not be repeated or be said out in public about someone else's family), causing the guy who won to leave the building with his head down. The teen was kicked out from the building and banned from joining any future tournaments.
It's amazing how much I catch myself smiling while reading this.
Lol idk why I read this in demoman's voice

Ah! Glad to see another cultured person here.

I think magic was on the same trend as dungeons and dragon's. D&d was always this old game I always heard about and assumed people stopped playing back in the 80s. I never actually heard of Magic until I was already in college around the time that South Park episode came out. So I thought it was a brand new game riding the coat tails of all the other popular card games.

Eh, I have a lock out deck for yugioh that is personally very funny. But I definitely know how other players felt when the full strangulation kicked in. ( nerd moment: I could lock a player into only having one monster zone and a limit on their combined field and hand to only six cards. Place an unkillable monster in defence mode and let the game draw out)
“Welcome to the salty spittoon, how tough are ya?”
“How tough am I? I watched Discord bend reality to his whims with a snap of his claw… and I only peed myself a little.”

That seems like a really good way to get someone to yell "You've activated my trap card!" and then deck you in the schnoz.
one of my buds was a D&D dungen master, my late wife was into magic and my daughter is still playing pokemon.
i suck at games.

Honestly, in tournaments it was eye rolls and "are you kidding me? "
Worst that ever happened was my best friend got so frustrated his super beefed up BEWD was locked down and useless that he threw his desk across the quad.
We then had to chase after all the cards lol.
