Should I continue the story?

I've gotten only 1,000 - 2,000 worth of words in the next chapter. The characters feel stiff, the romance feels forced and there is that unsatisfactory taste when I proofread it. I just can't seem to better the situation because I don't know how.

The first chapter, after all, was only an experiment. It seemed like an interesting idea at the moment.
