In a Linkedin post, Emma Fernando announced her new role as a series producer for the new season of Gumball.
Solid news, by the looks of it. It's unclear what happened to the movie. My theory here that because of the merger situation the studio has discarded it and pivoted to this new season. There's a good chance, I think, that whatever they'd been planning for the movie, they'll use in the first few episodes.
It's also unclear at this point whether Ben Bocquelet and/or Mic Graves are involved in any capacity. Ben's old statement that the show could continue without him seems relevant. There might be some cause for concern here, but the worst case is neither guaranteed, nor any of this is set in stone, so personally I'm setting my pitchfork aside for now.
