In response to a question I shall clarify something here. Following my ghost story "A Tall Tale Heart" (which apparently some people did not realize was a ghost story) I was asked by some friends to write more Pony ghost stories.
While I like the idea of doing this I blanched at the idea of filling up my story list with a bunch of unrelated one-shots that all focused on Ghosts. Hence I decided to convert Tall Tale Heart (originally typoed) into the first part of a series.

The newly entitled "Short Dead Ponies" will be a series of one-shots or two-parters occurring within my given continuity of Ponyville. While these stories will be (for the most part) designed to be read as independent stories I will be maintaining continuity between them. So if I state in one 'short' that somebody is dead. They will remain dead.

Below is a list of ghost stories I plan on Ponyfying so far and their brief descriptions. I will likely post more ideas here based on things people suggest or ideas that come to me. When I post them they will enter this worlds continuity.

A Tell Tale Part
Pub. Oct 24th - Inspired by “A Tell Tale Heart” by E.A.Poe - Rarity tells the Cutie Mark Crusaders of the day she and Fluttershy died.

Banshee on the Tracks
In progress - Inspired by ‘The SignalMan’ by Charles Dickens. Twilight is coming home from Canterlot on the train when it is brought to a stop my mechanical failure and a bright light on the tracks. She gets out and investigates.

Bloody Mare
Yet to Pen - Inspired by the Bloody Mary stories, Scootaloo hears from her friends a legend. That if you say the words 'Bloody Mare' three times in front of a mirror on a full moon, that the spirit of 'Bloody Mare' will appear in your reflection. Determined to protect their friends the Cutie Mark Crusaders decide to capture this spirit!

Yet to Pen - Inspired by another Charles Dickens story, Spike has secretly started a hoard of gems and ‘precious’ items and is allowing his addiction to control his life, ruin his friendships. The Main six decide to scare him straight.

Yet to be penned - Reports have started floating around town from mares, claiming to have been raped or sexually accosted by a a ghostly mare in the middle of the night! Detective Rainbowdash swears she'll solve the case!
