What Raiden feared the most, a new invasion and a tournament, happened, just not in the way he expected. This time it was not the Outworld that started the invasion, but the original home of the ninja warrior Sunset Shimmer, now known as Tundra.

The dark sorcerer Sombra, alongside his allies Chrysalis and Tirek merged the two realms in search of new powers and allies, ready to take advantage of the chaos and conquer all realms, while old enemies like Shao Khan are ready to put their plans in action to regain their power.

With an attempted assassination on Princess Celestia leaving her on coma, the forces of Harmonyrealm are in disarray and are ready to defend their home from the warriors of Earthrealm, not realizing that they are simply falling into a trap made by Sombra.

Who will be declared winner in this tournament this time and who is really behind this crisis?

For those of you who haven't played the latest Mortal Kombat games, you may not know how things start every match. Once you select the characters the two of them have a little banter to add more persnality and some background to what is happening.

That is basically the idea of this chapter and maybe others in the future.

In this chapter you will see small chats between the characters that will explain things that are happening in this reality; all of them are three sentences; the first 4 in each section will be the character talking with Sunset while the last 4 will always be Sunset talking first.

You will get a small bio explaining something form the character, but what happens in the story or them can be found in the banter too.

Sunset Shimmer (AKA Tundra): Trained by the Lin Kuei, she took her master’s previous name to show her new convictions and loyalty to the clan. After different realms and timelines merged due to what now is known as the Mortal Kombat event, she will fight with all she has to save the two worlds.

Princess Twilight: Chosen by the gods of Harmonyrealm (the name given to the realm of Equestria) to defend them against the dark forces of Sombra, Shao Khan and Shinnok. While not new to defending her realm, this time she is put into the worst situation. Even if she saves her realm, she could condemn all the others.

Why do you fight at the side of killers Sunset?

These KILLERS were the only ones that embraced me as family.

You already had a family my friend.

Sunset Shimmer, is this fight needed?

I told you already, my name is Tundra.

I will not give up on you, not now, not ever.

In the Lin Kuei I finally found peace.

Rarity: The Earthrealm version of the fashionista, she has quick eye and even faster legs; she does not shy away from the conflict that has engulfed her realm. Alongside her friend she will protect the people on them while also looking perfectly chic.

I always knew winter colors would look nice on you.

So many realms yet to enchant, I suppose.

Gotta admit, you make a ninja look stylish.

Pinkie Demoniac: An errant demon that had escaped from the Well of Souls in Shang Tsung’s island, she took over the body of Earthrealm’s Pinkie Pie; nobody knows if she was always insane or trying to take over that mind was what made her what she is. She fights to gain full control of the body and regain all her strength.

Frost: previous student of Sub-Zero, she ended up betraying her master in search of power after feeling she was being hold from what she deserved. She left her master just to end up dead at the hands of Tirek. Now back form the death as a revenant she will get revenge on her replacement. The irony of the situation does not escape Sunset Shimmer.

So you are the replacement?

Yes, I would love to see more backstory with Sunset meeting Sub Zero and Scorpion and her training, the Mane 7 and other characters and also more banter. Maybe even have her "victory" ending like in the games.
