Apple Bloom's parents died years ago in an accident, when she was only a baby. That's what Applejack and Big Macintosh have always told her, and even though they must have suffered a great deal they still managed to raise her properly and give her all the love her parents couldn't.

But her brother and sister have been hiding a secret, through shame, ever since their parents' deaths, and now the time has finally come to tell Apple Bloom who she really is. But how will the youngest Apple react to what really happened? Can their family bonds survive the truth?

Consequences of our actions are often unforeseen. Some are harmless, some are fatal. Some are temporary, some are permanent. And then we have these.

When Rarity decides to perform a little wizardry, it should come as no surprise that things do not go as planned. One thing leads to another, and Rainbow Dash ends up with a stallion that looks, acts, and thinks like her to deal with. Will hilarity ensue? Will relationships form? This is the order the five senses develop in for foals as they rest, cradled in the warm safety of a mother’s womb. But for one, her womb was a thorn bush in the dark of night. For one, the safety and warmth that should have carried her into the world was replaced with pain and cold.

These are Nyx's first hours.

Life in Ponyville, outside of the usual events like a parasprite invasion or a revenge-seeking, all powerful megalomaniac kicking out the town librarian, tends to be laid back and typical. Which Applejack doesn't mind. However, after the CMC cause more problems due to influence from a newcomer in town, Applejack gathers the girls to go fix what the CMC did.

But then a mysterious creature ends up attacking Applejack, and while she survives and seems fine, it isn't long before she starts acting strangely. It's up to the usual group of ponies to figure out what's going on before it's too late.
