When a portal is opened between two otherwise disconnected worlds, a few reliable spells go a little crazy- and result in a series of letter-bearing owls passing through the portal. Several times.

What could possibly go wrong?

Made it to 34 likes before the first dislike. For my first story to make it past 7, that's amazing. Thank you!

Written with the able editing assistance of Skittlebug starting Chapter 12 and Gerandakis as well starting Chapter 20.

As of today, 1/26/20, this story has been cancelled. I kinda hate to cancel a story that was going so well... But, to be completely honest, it sucks. When they talk about story 'arcs', they mean that if you were to make an outline for it, and use indentation to denote subplots and so on, each arc would form a rough arch shape against the side of the page, with the indentation. I just threw one together with this... and it looked like a list of bullet points. Random, incoherent events, tied together by nothing but SoL (No plot relevance to each other)... Not good, either by itself or for the future of the story.

Edit much later than it should have been: As of 2/25/20, the rewrite has begun publication, and is available... here: On the Implications of Parallel Worlds

Worry not, this story is staying up indefinitely, even as the rewrite inevitably develops far past it.

Over the ages, many a wizard has considered the potential for the existence of parallel universes. Often, they've also contemplated what might happen if someone were to cross the line into such a parallel universe- even, how they might do that.

Not one, however, expected that others might come to their world... nor anything that happened after. The first sign they had... was silence in the Owlry.

A rewrite/reimagining of the once popular and now cancelled The Gate, this time with an outline... and a more balanced magic system. And, a different perspective. Should be fun...

Written with the editing assistance of both Gerandakis and Skittlebug.

As always, tags may be updated as the story progresses.

Updates weekly on Tuesdays, or immediately on Patreon... when I have chapters available. Which, in theory, is more often than not.

Celestia has given Sweetie Belle a rare opportunity to become an exchange student where she can bring friendship to a whole new world’s students of magic. Elsewhere, Theodore Nott has been given a similar opportunity: turn down his Seventh Year at Hogwarts in order to learn powerful magic from the cursebreakers of the Equestrian Crystal Empire.

Neither of them has the slightest idea what they are about to experience over the next year.

Edit: Now a collaborative effort with Loyal2Luna

Commander Shepard has been through a lot, but now that the Reaper War's over he can finally relax and take a little R&R, right? Soak up the sun, grab a few drinks, spend some quality time with Tali, introduce a new race to the galaxy... wait, what?

In the aftermath of the war, a new species has been discovered amidst the destruction and fire. A species that have access to powers never seen before, powers which could prove vital to the continuation of galactic survival.

The Citadel Council has elected to send Shepard, along with the rest of the crew of the Normandy, to introduce Equestria to the universe outside of their solar system.

Now Shepard must wade through obstructive bureaucrats, antagonistic journalists, and the odd, angry prince in order to bring Equestria into a new age of space and adventure.

So settle in, it's going to be one hell of a vacation!

Now has it's own TvTropes page

A day after the events of "Hearth's Warming Club," Sandbar finds out another reason why his griffon friend does not want to return to Griffonstone. In the eyes of the griffons, Gallus isn't considered a legal adult as he has no one to perform a coming of age ceremony. One that would give the young griffon self-guardianship and freedom of choice to leave the country to move to Equestria. However, since he could not be adopted without the consent of a living relative, Gallus is stuck in a perpetual legal and cultural limbo.

That was until Sandbar thought up of a loophole. If his friend is unable to be free by adoption, then perhaps the only way to do so, is to marry him. At least, temporarily.

P.S. A special thank you to the writer of this site who has guided me throughout this story who wishes to remain anonymous.

Kitzumi Nova the fox pony is trapped in the past, and the only way home is to travel to another dimension. It's a world of wizards and witches, and because Princess Celestia wants to make sure she gets some magical education while she is there, Miss Nova will be attending Hogwarts starting First-year in 1903 and finishing in 1992. From there the story will continue as we follow the efforts of ponies to help Wizard kind despite themselves. Will the world of Harry Potter survive?

1/27/2021: So far I'm up to chapter ten for editing and most of the edits have been really minor, so I decided to go ahead and resubmit now.

The explanation for why Nova is going to be in first-year so long can be found in Nightmare Moon’s Daughter if you don't want to read the entire Kitzumi's adventures through the looking glass. or wait till I cover the reason in this book.

The time of 1903 isn't canon from the lore of Harry Potter but based on the original build date of the type of locomotive most often seen being depicted as the engine for the Hogwarts express.

The CMC arrives in the eleventh chapter. Nova rescues a troll from the crusaders from a troll, and then...

There will be drama, there will be shenanigans, and there will be the occasional breakage of forth walls.

The character of Kitzumi Nova Moon in this story while bassed on the character in my previous books actually represents a different individual within the multiverse who has been having similar if not identical experiences. My reasoning for making her a different Nova is on account of a number of continuity issues that will simply be too much trouble to fix.

A crossover with the Harry Potter books and a Sunset in Hogwarts story.

This story is a sequel to The One Who Got Away

A frustrated young orphan colt with a talent for painting is determined to run away from his dead-end rural village for the distant cultural haven of Baltimare. All he needs to do is slip aboard a raft and drift down the river Fen until he reaches his destination. It’s a simple plan, and would have worked just fine except for one thing.

Omnifaria – the Nation of Love. Synonymous with progress in bio-engineering, environment-friendly technologies, and industrialized love-production.

Omnifaria represents the promise that no changeling must ever go hungry, that every nymph will be allowed to reach their full potential. It is a utopia – and the most powerful nation on the planet.

All built on the ruins of the magical land of Equestria.

A Chrysalis-timeline story, 200 years later.

...You know, ponies have actually been romanticized as of late.”

A slice of life story making light of a darker setting. Effectively a continuation of FanOfMostEverything's "A Crazed Gleam", though reading it is not strictly required.

Dark tag for the juxtaposition of telling a story about friendly changelings in a setting predicated on the end of pony civilization and occasional "dark" world building elements, yet aiming for a "happy end".

Story is also available as a text-to-speech generated audio book. Cover art (c) myself.
