This story is a sequel to The Sun and her little Sparkle

It's been ten years since Twilight was adopted by Princess Celestia and the elements of harmony were put to use all too soon. Luna never awoke, though, and she remained a secret to most outside of the elements and those few servants who were tasked with keeping the sleeping princess alive and well.
Nightmare Moon returned, however, and was subsequently banished by the Elements of Harmony once again.
This is the story of what happens after. How the Night truly became what it was always meant to be.

A young man with a love of military history and MLP:FIM finds himself dragged into Equestria as war threatens the pony nation.

I got the idea for this story from my Civil War book collection and Altoid's Blood and Guts and Ponies story, as it involves a human coming to Equestria to aid in its defense, partly by modernizing it's military and leading its forces on the battlefield.

Just a warning; the main character is Christian and pro-Union. Just to give people a heads up.

To Ember, ponies are the boogie men, villains in story books, and alien creatures that roam the land. His perception is radically changed after he captures one alive; and they are nothing like he imagined. Now, to fulfill the promise he made to the pony, he will risk his life to get her safely home.

It's Twilight's first time away from her new friends since leaving Crystal Prep. At the Science Fair, she runs into some old familiar faces...

Echo is a high ranking changeling officer. The Canterlot invasion was going perfectly, and her battalion had personally defeated the Elements of Harmony. Suddenly, she finds herself far flung from Canterlot, crashing into the Everfree forest. Now she is faced with a difficult reality - her hive, the only family she's ever known, no longer exists, and she must adapt to life as a pony. What she finds out about herself, though, will surprise her.

Rated Teen for occasional suggestiveness and language, tagged gore for brief violence, particularly in later chapters.

Addendum 5/29/2018

This story is now, as of this addendum, five years old. It is getting more attention as I put out new chapters on the sequel.

I recognize that this story has problems, and that some of them by their nature carry over to the sequel; please remember that when I started writing this, I was not yet even old enough to legally drink in the US. A lot has happened and a lot has changed, and there are many things about this story I regret including, but which it is now too late to change. Some of those things I have simply done my best to ignore and make irrelevant, but some of them are errors from a 19 year old me that will haunt me until the sequel is finished.

In short, please be gentle.

It has been over twelve-hundred years since Amalthea was saved by the powerful magic of her long dead human friend. With King Haggard dead, and the Red Bull banished to the sea, all was at peace for the world of the utopian unicorns and mythical creatures alike. But when Amalthea returns to the ancient places of her memories, she unknowingly releases the full power of the beast once cast away.

It's been two years since he became the Dragonborn, nothing else has been able to surprise him. Not many things can top being chosen by the god of time to battle dragons and save the world. Except maybe being chosen by the god of chaos from another world to cause the very thing he was trying to stop. Lets see how this goes.

Twilight decides to have another dinner party for Starlight, along with Princess Candance, Shinning Armor, Sunburst and baby Flurry Heart, along with Starlight's friend Sunburst, but things took an unexpected turn when Flurry Heart caused herself, Starlight, and Sunburst to be at Canterlot High and got stuck there, can they find their way back home before the dinner party tonight?
