Hearts and Hooves day, a day rather infamous in Cheerilee's classroom. Apple Bloom needs to help out at the farm since Big Mac has plans, leaving Scootaloo and Sweetie Belle to figure out what to do with their time. An off-hoof suggestion points them in the direction of a date, given the holiday. From there, they try to figure out the rest.

War comes to Equestria: with despair, with starvation, with suffering and with sacrifice. And the ponies must learn how to keep true to their values while surviving not just the rigors of battle, but the desolation of total war.

Applebloom is tired of being treated like a filly! She's a big pony, darn it! She wants the respect of her brother and sister, so she decides to take a drink of something definitely not meant for fillies. What happens afterward will convince her to never touch her brother's apple whisky ever again.

The following piece was written before season 3 and I'm not going back to change it, because this story flies in the face of canon anyway. DerpyMac shipping because why the hell not. I got the idea from Loyal 2-1 in one of his livestreams when he said he thought the best stallion for Derpy was Big Macintosh. His reasons for thinking this are irrelevant; Big Macintosh just has enough swag to attract about any mare...and a few stallions.
