That was...surprisingly good. I had forgotten about this story til it popped up in my feed. Glad it got an update, several parts really made me smile.
I really don't know how you keep coming up with those. They're the cheesiest goddamn thing ever, but somehow I can't stop laughing.
Holy shit it lives !!!!!
Wow. Great chapter. I spent the whole beginning admiring the party and feeling heartache that something was going to go wrong and trying to figure out how it would work out. I'm so glad it did.
Yahrr. Always looking forward to a new chapter!
I like the "friendship lesson" you wove in there. This one felt almost like an episode from the show, barring the obvious differences.
Panorama? the actress they had to film in super wide screen, the sets were that expansive?
Wonder how they are going to handle the classics.
Ben Hur. Die Hard. Soul Music.
Yaay, Fluttershy hasnt exploded, and Gilda isnt a rug. Now Lero just has to worry about her getting more intrested, between RnR.
Wonderful return, I'm glad things are settling well for you. Fluttershy's reconciling with herself was well done and with Twilight guiding the way, it didn't give the "Lero has to do it all himself" feeling.
One minor thing nags me though. With the ruckus (frackus?) Gilda caused, including bodily harm upon Fluttershy and other guests, it seems odd that Rainbow would be so eager to cover for her that quickly. Holding Fluttershy's head in the punch bowl, shocking her, shoving a chandelier and injuring her ..... but Rainbow is willing to hide her and swap stories because Gilda called her 'awesome'? Perhaps it was memories of their 'forgotten' friendship peeking through, but then wouldn't the animosity also be 'remembered'?
I understand Gilda showing up (out of the blue) was the vehicle to lead to Twilight's epiphany and Fluttershy's 'equilibrium' and it's a good one, don't get me wrong. But perhaps if Gilda showed up and merely made a mess of things rather than physical assault, it would make Rainbow's (and everyone else's) immediate actions seem less.....sudden.
Like I said, wonderful chapter and I'm very glad to see this continue. The scene between Lero and Honeybee was particularly well done. Just the one thing that kind of made me pause.
Thank you for continuing and looking forward to the next chapter!
Hoo wee! What a roller coaster. Job well done.
That really is an awesome party. The friendship lesson was warm and fuzzy and I adore how fluttershy handled the actors. A delightfully pinkie thing to do.
Gilda seemed forced as hell though.
Really good chapter. Man, fluttershy can do pinkies job, she is an incredibly kind pony, who would just want ponies to be happy. I like how this resolved.

To be fair, she was in the show, too, with all the 90's slang.

Wonder how they are going to handle the classics.
Ben Hur. Die Hard. Soul Music.
It's possible we might be seeing a little more of Lero from a moviemaking angle within Divided Rainbow! I'd LOVE to see the Pony version of Die Hard… though with Ben-Hur, I imagine the chariot scene would take on QUITE a heavier emotional tone. Those poor, poor horses…

Many thanks! I loving it here in my new home.

I'm really glad so many of you think that Fluttershy's equilibrium was done well! I won't lie to you: Fluttershy was difficult for me to wrap my mind around, as an author. Especially in terms of: "humor is very subjective, so how do I make Fluttershy really succeed at making others laugh with her equilibrium?"
Then I really sat down and THOUGHT about why Unswapped Pinkie Pie did everything she did. And it occurred to me, in much the same way as it occurred to Twilight Sparkle, that there was a lot of nobility and selfless altruism at the heart of what Pinkie did… that she'd always been an AMAZINGLY kind pony, and all her finest humor stemmed from her love of friendship. From there, all the rest just clicked into place.
Ha ha! Yeah, I understand. The funny thing is this: in the beginning of Divided Rainbow, the Swap effectively left all of Lero's nearest and dearest (both the Swapped and Unswapped) divided from one another. Everyone had isolated themselves: Twilight, Spike, Pinkie Pie, Rainbow Dash... all obsessing over their own individual problems. Hesitant to offer help, and hesitant to accept help.
Yes, Lero took a LOT of the initiative early in the story to fix everyone's problems. Slowly but surely, though, all his focused effort and careful juggling has born fruit. The divided friends are reconnecting together, reunited by a common cause, each finding a way to contribute something meaningful.
This chapter is just another example how far back Twilight and Lero will bend over backwards to help their friends. This was probably a ton money and time just to make Fluttershy happy.
And Now I am the one that feels bad.
Did you ask for help at the forum? Because if you did I completely missed it! And I've got a freaking degree on Tourism, so I can plan all-out parties off the top of my head! I could have written you a monograph and you wouldn't have had to break through the fifty meters of shit that you'll find online before you dig up some good information. And you would have written a perfectly factible all-out party, without the handful of mistakes that only a pro could spot.
So I am deeply sorry. And I go to the forum and find that you did ask for help, and I ignored it, I'll feel like two inches tall.
Wow, what a chapter! Looks like a talk with Spike is incoming, what with Applejack being the straggler here. This one came outta left field, but damn is there a lot going on!
The two ponies in Honeybee's room, are they trying to figure out the spell to switch out their own (frankly pathetic) cutie marks? Or are they trying to figure out how to get Honeydew's mark off of the Sicklefin leader?

I honestly feel real terrible for Applejack, suffering for so long while all her other four friends were all helped out before her and learned to be functional and productive…
Thanks a bunch! I've been aiming to have ALL my equilibrium chapters be REALLY dynamic and momentous in their own unique respect, with lots in terms of wow factor. One more to go!
The former. Very definitely.

Thanks for the answers! I look forward to the next chapter.
As someone who worked in a bakery for six years, I am overly annoyed that you're using... fondant... when marzipan's obviously superior.
And that's coming from someone who doesn't like the almondy taste of marzipan.
The rest of the chapter was great, though.
Excellent chapter. Now let's see how you do with Applejack!
I cared about this a while ago, but then it kept dragging on, and on...
I'm giving this a downvote. I'll reevaluate that when it's complete, if the final payoff actually turns out to be worth it.
Sort of a mixed idea, but a nice thing Lero could have said to Honeybee was how her sister ended up turning on the other bad guys to save Ponyville. At her worst, she still cared about her family. Also, you are a god damned genius for how you're coming up with all these scenarios.
