I see a few elements from a suggested source made their appearance. For those readers who dont frequent the Xenophile group forum and are wondering about Granny Pie and why she was gone for Carnival season at that time, check out The Story of Granny Pie.
You know if he keep his plan I think he will end up having all 6 mares in his herd
2929313
Now THERE'S a thought!
Spike, when all of this is over I'm sure Rarity will be PLEASED to know that you broke your promise to Lero and threw him and RD to the beasts, and surely Twilight will have something to say about that.
Man, now I want to see Lero bedding Rarity just to get back at him.
2929578
Ah, I'm ok with that, but also since he is working his ass off and doing his best, if Twilight doesn't do something Lero will be the one that will be crown and transform into an Alicorn
2929692
Ha! Lero the Alicorn! Then the mares really WOULD be tripping over themselves to wed him and bed him! (Not necessarily in that order, either!)
All I'll say to you and everyone else is this: Twilight Sparkle's story in Divided Rainbow is NOT over yet, not by a longshot. Nor is Lero's, for that matter. Or Rarity's. Or Rainbow Dash's. Or Spike's. Or any of them.
Got quite a few surprise twists and turns up ahead for us to swerve into, yet!
But by all means, please keep on second-guessing me!
2929750
I just saying for a test meant for Twilight Lero is having a very good head start, hmmm…uy I hope he and Discord could talk, I don't see why Lero hate him so much, he never was there when Discord do all that, and over all he has being playing very nice, I though that at this point he an Discord would be chatting and becoming good pals, they ARE in the same boat after all
Hopefully we will learn how rarity fell in love with Lero too. Should be interesting. The whole complete rewrite for dash and rarity's story was good especially after telling the other stories with only minor changes. It was unexpected.
Twilight will have to be careful when she tells her cutie mark story. She still remembers that RD did the rainbow blast and a bad slip might cause confusion.
2929765
Here's a suggestion: look at what Lero is doing to help in this story, and compare it to what Twilight did in the actual show.
2929940
Exactly the same, that is why he getting close to pass the test"
2929959
No, actually. It's totally different. Both the methodology and results of Lero's Equalibrium are not at all like Twilight's cure. Check them again. ;)
2929972
Ok…hmm they are, its only than instead of working with all he is going one by one
2929994
Look closer. Twilight doesn't help them in a large group, she does something very specific with her friends.
However, the "one at a time" thing is very much part of Lero's method, as doing it any other way doesn't occur to him.
2929830
Thanks! I'm glad it was unexpected!
Spoiler Alert: You WILL be learning how Rarity fell in love with Lero.
The reason Rarity's backstory will be getting a chapter all to itself, is because out of all the Swapped Five, Rarity's past required the most revamping, in order for her to fit into Rainbow Dash's old life role. Hers is the one where the Swap was forced to expend the most creativity.
Speaking from the Swap's perspective, swapping Pinkie Pie into Applejack's life was CHILD'S PLAY, because both those mares are Earth ponies.
But Rarity?
...A unicorn who is now supposed to have been born, grown up, and schooled in Cloudsdale, in order to accumulate Dash's life experiences, personal connections, weather manipulation knowledge... and job as regional weather manager. Except Cloudsdale's a place where only pegasi actually live, because non-pegasi plunge straight through the cloudy 'floor.' (Can you say 'difficult childhood?')
...A unicorn who is supposed to trigger a Sonic Rainboom in Dash's place, so that she and her friends are prevented from becoming the miserable, unfulfilled mares you see in A World Without Rainbows. Except that since the Rainboom requires a pair of wings, Rarity's gonna need to come up with an adequate substitute that achieves the same results.
...A unicorn with a good body image, who keeps herself as lovely, fit, and well-groomed as a movie star, and who is 'straight' instead of 'bent,' (so naturally her experiences swimming in the dating pool would've been VERY DIFFERENT than it had been for Dash) falls madly and wholeheartedly in love with Lero Michealides. Of all the possible fish in the sea.
So be ready! There's a truckload of historical revisionism ahead, and I'm having the time of my life writing it!
2930065
And I am sure it will be awesome! I have complete faith in you. You've definitely earned it with this story.
Yeah, it would take some mental gymnastics to make the same characters fit into completely different backstories.
Kudos to you, man.
2930065
When you put it that way, it seems like one good jolt from the right direction, and Rarity will be faced with the horrifying reality. I never realized how delicate her relative sanity must be at the moment.
Fluttershy and Applejack look like they're going to be much trickier than Pinkie Pie in terms of reaching equilibrium. Still, at least Fluttershy has the Cakes to provide perspective. Everyone else in Rarity's family seems... fabulously challenged, shall we say.
And then there's Twilight, who's defaulted to her ground state of researching the problem into submission and has nearly forgotten everything she's learned in Ponyville in the process. At least she has Lero...
In any case, looking forward to more. Especially the part with the bonobos.
2931605
The Swap's new memories are ALWAYS trying to shield the Swapped Five's minds, and quick at coming up with more 'backstory' on the fly, and 'logical explanations' for any farfetched situation. So for what it is... It generally makes for an effective 'autoimmune system,' if you will. Discord's own bewitchment of the masses has been an INVALUABLE asset, to this end.
But as with EVERYTHING, psychological or physical, there are chinks in the armor. Finding those chinks would be like opening the puzzle box in the Hellraiser series; you'd have to be extremely smart and stupid at the same time. Or have a certain sort of dumb luck.
If Rarity WERE to find out the truth about herself, she WOULD turn homicidal, as Discord warned. She'd be a TERROR with her weather magic!
Thankfully, Rarity's sanity is pretty well buttressed! Not just by Discord; the fact she has her 'family.' Especially Lero. Because Lero treats her as good as gold, with genuine patience, honor, understanding, and affection it's gone a long way to helping Rarity be one of the MOST stabile of the Five, (though at this point in the story, with her equilibrium, Pinkie's actually jumped ahead to #1 most stabile. But Lero's intent on helping the rest reach that level.)
Speaking as an author, the hardest ponies to invent an 'equilibrium' for were Rarity and Fluttershy.
Indeed! The Cakes are great stabilizers.
It would've been all too easy if Sweetie Belle could've stepped in and been 'Apple Bloom' to AJ's 'Pinkie Pie.'
Indeed. It's another challenge.
Did you know humans share around 98% of DNA with bonobos? I *so* wanted to put that in there, but there's no way a pony book would have that info!
LERO: All I can say is Thank God for that 2%! NO ONE should get THAT hot and bothered over an empty cardboard box!

Singing a true true friend is not doing something special, the only thing she did was ram the element of them while they were helping each other
Why does it seem that that Twilight is directly affected by the curse, even though her Cutie Mark is unchanged? Her mark refers to Magic and Magic is all Twilight thinks about in this time. Even though Lero's way of dealing with things is a slow painful step-by-step process, it's still a step in the right direction. And Twilight does not want to admit that, I think. I think that she's hiding herself in her work to get away from the guilt she feels about what happened to her friends, her family, and other people she never met but still got involved in this. Hell, remember the minotaur who died in the earlier chapters of the story. You could argue that Twilight has his blood on her hooves. Not as much as Celestia, but still. She is part of the cause of someone's death, and that scares her to the point where she can't deal with it. And even worse, the death is indirectly caused by he "specialness', her Magic, her pride. So she hides in her books, hoping that her guilt won't catch up with her, hoping that she can make it all better. And when Lero does something, without magic, to make things a bit better, it is a blow to her pride, to who she thinks she is.

"Helping each other"
Key words.
2934333 All this mess make her forgot about what she really was studying this whole time in Ponyville. About friendship. She tries really hard to fix the SPELL. She's too afraid that her friends are going to be lost forever to try another approach, to try to fix the affected ponies, not focusing on the spelll itself.
Be patient, she will find out after some time what she really need to do... follow example of her stallion. Go to friends, this way, a way to cure them will be showed to her.
Geez, I can change a little my post and it's almost Yoda talk.
2933575 Rarity in such case would end up homicidal and suicidal at the same time. She's not as powerful as Twi with magic, so overdoing stuff with weather magic to cause mayhem and destruction would more likely kill Rarity in the process as well.
Only just noticed you'd set up a tropes page for this when I read the authors note at the end.
I've taken the liberty of cleaning up a bunch of stuff on the page. For someone not familiar with the ins and outs of making pages, you seem to have done a pretty good job in getting it started.
2935955
I deeply appreciate your assistance, here, Indigo, you really HAVE done a magnificent job making it all read cleaner.
Yeah, you nailed it on the head: this IS my very first time making a TV Tropes page... but being a troper, I was able to pick up on the basics. Thank you for helping.
Also, I'd like to take this moment to make an announcement to you and every other troper who's reading this and would like to contribute! In addition to the Main Page
I also took the liberty of starting
A Nightmare Fuel Page...
A Funny Moments Page...
A Heartwarming Moments Page...
An Awesome Moments Page...
And a Tearjerker Page.
So if any of you would like the chance to commemorate what you believe to be the scariest, funniest, sweetest, awesomest, and saddest moments in Divided Rainbow, head on over to the respective site and click the 'edit page' button.
I only did one just to get the ball rolling... but it'd just be all-around better to hear what YOU, the reader, think are its most profound moments, not me.
Please have fun!
2936105
No worries, and you quickly pick it up if you do it a few times. There are a few administrative tasks you need to do when making a new page, such as setting the page type (which I did for you on the subpages) and putting it on an index, but people forget that all the time and someone else usually comes along and fixes it.
2936105
Not sure if the MEH applies to Celestia, it's not like she was doing this of pure malice, that said, better someone call her out for all the problems the spell is causing.
That said, should we expect somepony calling Spike out of his behavior?Bonus points if Rarity is the one who calls him out.
2942376
Don't Worry. Things with Spike will be coming to a head soon. And he will be realizing how much of a giant jerk he's been, In a rather ironic manner.
Wow
I...I love this thing
Not much else to say besides that, really, well there is but that would make a LONG comment
2945435
Just so you know I *love* long comments!
Thank you for watching.
This is an intriguing read, and the sense of tension is building like a volcanic force posting against the hardened stone that is barely containing it ten feet below the surface.
In other words, I can barely wait for the next chapter!
very nice
This was a very long chapter but worth it
I am sorry it took so long I was several chapters back.
I really liked Lore's idea of equilibrium.
Showing How the girls got their cute marks and what there life was like with this altered time line was extremely cool.
Lore hunt for the cure may seem different but i wonder how he will handle Princess Twilight. I sense a punch for Celestia coming
Still some very heart warming moments and great comedy too.
On a side note; Funny to think Magnum, Rarity's' dad is an earth bound and probably wouldn't question an earth bound daughter, epically one that share his fashion sense
Also how did Opal behave with Apple Jack?
I guess there questions well never know the answer to.
Best wish and good luck for next time.

-- No worries! No rush!
I really liked Lore's idea of equilibrium.
Showing How the girls got their cute marks and what there life was like with this altered time line was extremely cool.
-- Thank you! I knew that Lero (and all the audience) would want to know, especially after how Pinkie Pie was fixed!
Lore hunt for the cure may seem different but i wonder how he will handle Princess Twilight.
-- You'll see!
I sense a punch for Celestia coming
--- Just wait and see!

--- That's right! Magnum and Pearl never cared that their 'daughter' isn't a unicorn. Applejack's just a really easy girl to love!
Also how did Opal behave with Apple Jack?
I guess there questions well never know the answer to.
--- You get to see Opal with Applejack in Chapter 15! Read it again and see!
Best wish and good luck for next time.
-- You're all in for a great with 16!
3040702 first sorry for this misspelling.
Two when I asked about Opal I meant how did Apple Jack get her to behave Rarity can't even do that.
Well can't wait to see what happens next.
this is making me think to much about all the other possibilities that could have happened thanks to that spell (i.e. Rarity the farmer).
not that i'm not paying attention to the actual story however, I am enjoying that quite a bit.
We have always been at war with Eastasia.
(to clarify, I actually did like the addition, I just felt like making that citation)
3888651 Well, we got Rarity the Farmer in Simple Ways, so...
