Thomas, a human, has appeared in the magical land of Equestria, though it is much different from the show. Ponies of this world are all anthros. What's more, Thomas has been assigned as Princess Luna's royal concubine.

Ok, but that squirrel was a total ass.
Glad to see you back though, I mever get tired of this story. In fact, I was rereading it today!
Finally, some alone time with these two. Yay. I hope Thomas is okay with that whole wrist thing, and is the fact that Firestorm’s been spying on him for months ever gonna be addressed?
Back in business. Although, what the heck would a black marketer do with human organs?
He has an unknown or forgotton Geas not to hurt the innocent?
Now Im thnking of Luna on the Throne with the Flamingo.
Anyone for Clue?
Always happy to see these two spend time together and some part of me want the shady ponies to push Thomas and have him show them the darker side of humanity when we are cornered and what makes us the most dangerous species on our planet.
When push comes to shove humans can be surprisingly dangerous beings. These ponies hiding in the shadows, I do hope they know what their doing.
But aside from that I enjoyed this, this is a wonderful story. Its nice seeing Luna and Thomas spending some time just to themselves. Its been a long time since it was just them and not the others. They are a beautiful, wonderful group of ponies. To whom I love to watch and read about. But something about the original two makes me smile outside and in.
The whole Firestorm and spies thing however, they need to be careful. Humans when backed into a corner can be as dangerous as any of the beasts which have been shaped by earth's by comparison hellish proving grounds of evolution. There's a reason we are at the top of the food chain, and their not.

Happy coincidences. Also, there was nothing abnormal about that squirrel. That's just how they all are.

We'll just have to wait on both, but the Firestorm thing is more of a slow-burn side plot that'll be addressed when I find a suitable time and place.

Literally anything. In our world, species in Africa are being hunted to extinction because the Chinese think their organs make good aphrodisiacs. Also, if you've played Skyrim, you'd know that random body parts can have all kinds of unexpected chemical properties.

No squirrel is ever innocent.

This was indeed a refreshing return to basics. However, Thomas is small and weak compared to everyone around him. If he's to do as you imply, he's gonna need something extra.

One of humanity's more dangerous qualities is our unpredictability. There are things about Thomas that no one knows, not even him. In fact, humanity's dangerous mindset will be explored in the near future. Also, that was precisely the sentiment I wished to capture. The group is fun, but getting back to the originals was a nice return to form.
Finally Thomas spending time with Luna. We need more of them together.
Going public, this should be interesting...

Such is the general consensus.

That's certainly one word for it. Too bad it won't be the biggest bombshell in the news cycle, but I don't want to spoil anything.
ooooh, this is what I was looking forward to. a little bit of sweet with a splash of world-building and a tint of foreshadowing. Welcome back and I hope things get better for you and yours.
Good chapter, really made me feel like I was going back to the dynamic of the first few chapters. Luna was thomas' first girl even though she can't be his first 'girlfriend' like Moonlight is.

I get that but he is also human and that is what makes him dangerous humans are one of the physically weakest species on the planet but evolution has made us into what we are today. As much as people deny it humans are natural killers, now i'm not saying he should go Hercules on everyone but the monster that is in all humans is lying in wait within him and all it takes is one moment for it to come to the surface. I also think it would be an interesting plot point to strengthen his bond with the other harem members even more especially Luna and Moonlight, for Luna it would be the fact that she is not alone that even he has a dark side to him. For moonlight would be coming to terms that he gentle stallion needs someone like her by his side to give him a reason to keep his monster in it's cage until it is needed again. You do you just put the idea out there that.

Much appreciated, and yes. Those are absolutely my favorite ingredients for a satisfying story.

Yup. Everyone seems happy with this return to form, which was the point. Even if the current setup is good, I miss the old dynamic.

Hmm. The things you describe are... I don't want to say close to what I have planned, but they're kind of adjacent. Darker elements are coming, but for Thomas, it's more of examining how his mind works differently from ponies. There's a conversation with a Dream Walker where she has a hard time understanding how dreaming about sea monsters doesn't automatically constitute a nightmare. However, now that I think about it, there is a planned arc where delving into humanity's darkness would be fitting. I'll toy with the idea and see what happens. Thanks.
I'm salty the squirrel got away scott free. Bean the little bastard with a rock! *inarticulate caveman noises*

Clearly, you don't watch Rick and Morty. Otherwise, you'd know better. ;P

Thomas being who he is, I imagine he wouldn’t want to be Headline #1 anyway. So that could actually work out.
As for the whole “dark side of humans” thing...well, it’s worth remembering that unless you’re dealing with a truly exceptionally dangerous individual, more average humans become a hazard primarily in groups. So if I were a pony, I’d definitely have second and third thoughts upon discovering a whole world full of these creatures and then quite possibly decide to not make contact after all because it’s not worth the risk, but Thomas all by himself is at the same time legitimately no more of a threat than a random pony on the street might also be and arguably less so much of the time. These two positions aren’t mutually exclusive.
