Really it all depends on exactly HOW Luna was moving. A light trot would probably have left her feeling a little sore, but a full gallop riding bare back? You ain't moving too well after awhile. What causes people to get saddle sore is the repeated impact from all the bouncing that comes with a horse's movements. I doubt flying would have this problem, but what do I know? XD Still, excellent chapter!
This is especially true if you dont have a saddle, believe me, first ass experience.
3791395
True, and we don't really know how it would feel to be on a flying horse for very long so I did my best to guess. Glad you enjoyed the chapter
3791405
You know, I really hope they eventually find Oasis... I wanna see Luna's reaction to Harold. Something tells me that would be priceless.
3791427 Hilarious in one sense, but heartbreaking in others.
Well if it was a distance that would have taken only a few days walking the roundabout rout to get there, flying would likely get you there in a few hours, shorter if alicorns are half as fast as extraordinary flyers have been in the show.
Thats about a ten to twenty minute flight, the only reason it would hurt would be because sarah is Gripping just a bit too hard onto Luna's sides with her knees. forcing her hips to stretch beyond their normal distance.
Well if you had not ridden a Horse before it can make you sore, especially if done without the appropriate clothing and equipment (saddle, etc)
3791404 Or worse, a wrongly adjusted saddle, I almost broke my legs that way.
Fast travel: explained. Although I'm looking forward to them fighting that way. Or someone calling Luna a vertibird.
Yea being on a horse without a saddle would hurt... Though I suspect asking for one would hurt Sarah more.
3791913
Luna: We are not a vertibird!
Guy: But... you can fly...
Luna: We fail to see the relevance in your statement...
You need another "that" to complete this. "that that is all you speak of?"
That's a question.
This sounds awkward. Not only because of that random "and" but it just feels funny.
Maybe: "Hard concentration during deep sleep will cause a group of roads to appear,"
This. BIG ISSUE: I'd like to refer back to my story when I had Rainbow Dash being shot from below by Raiders. She's a bright object against a grey sky. Although Luna can get away with it during the night, she'd be shot by every living thing because it's "flying," especially Super Mutants (which aren't too far away). I highly suggest making this an issue later on, which forces them to reserve flying for nightfall (and it'd be a good way to give some character bonding, with how much Sarah enjoys the night sky). Don't make it an issue right off the bat, though. I'm just saying, she should've been shot at.
Sippin' tea an' eatin' crumpets, lass? Or you lookin' at my cock? *holds up Rooster*
This chapter was nice. Some more snipets of exposition and character development. Hopefully some action heats it up in a chapter or two again.
3792345
Thanks for the catches man
Don't worry, the fact that they're a large blue object up in the plainly visible sky will be addressed. I just thought I'd give them a nice 'oh look at the world' warm up bit.
Anyways, always nice to get a good long comment from you
Say "Hi!" to the Citadel for me, I blew it up.
Ya don't say?
Yeah, Nightmare, shut up. Bullets aren't fun.
If it weren't for the whole no petroleum past something like 2020ish, this would be a stupid idea. As is? It's friggin' genius.
This was a fun little chapter, that's for sure.
3792821
That was a hilarious line, which also shows just a little bit of what Nightmare feels about Luna.
Fun chapter, I imagine a number of Wastlanders thought they where high/wasted if they saw Sarah and Luna.
3792433 We have ships that are nuclear powered and have for over 60 years. The Nimitz-class aircraft carrier, which the US started producing in 1975, can run for 20+ years continuously without having to stop for fuel.
3791481
True enough mein herr, true enough.
In a the water?
Sorry, couldn't help myself. Still loving this story!
thank god sarah is not a guy or it would hurt her balls
Those northerners and their gosh darn flyin' horses. What's next? Equal rights?
3791903 I once ended up falling from horse that had reared up and started galloping across the field due to beeing startled by a car alarm, with my left foot neatly stuck in the stirrup.
Thankfully the horse was on a leash.
Sarah is living every little girl's dream. Except for the fact that she's in a post-apocalyptic hell, but still.
It was in this moment that Keatosimo broke his laugh box.
I have to get this down somewhere or I'll forget, and I think you'll appreciate this little thought that popped into my head when was thinking of this story.
I just imagine Luna and Sarah eventually going to the Dunwich building, and once Luna gets back she is just telling the kids from the Nightmare Night episode the shit that went down in that creepy ass place, completely oblivious to how inappropriate it is to be telling kids about lovecraftian style shenanigans in the post-apocalypse.... ah its a good mental image....
I sense that CloverLuna rejection is a dig at all the TwiLuna fans.
And why does the dragon that raised C&L look and sound like Spike?
Anyway, great work!
Lots of headcanon assmilated.
3800671
Um no, I adore Twi/Luna when done well, it just wasn't the way the story was meant to go
As for Jonathan, well, you'll find out later
I don't know why, but to me Rivet City always looked quite unimpressive to me when compared to the ship in Fallout 2 that you hijack.
3802535
Yeah... the tanker in San Fran has waaay bigger interiors. But then it was an oil tanker, it needed that space. But an aircraft carrier would need plenty of space too, so I'm guessing it was a performance related sacrifice on Bethesda's part. They had to, you know, keep things small and stuff so the 360 and PS3 could run it...
I think you mean 360? After all it was Microsoft who limited developers to who could and could not install stuff to their hdds, since you know they weren't mandatory to run a 360
Even if Bethesda was allowed to, they would need multiple discs to add more detail to their world for the 360. Meanwhile PS3 had bluray and even a single layer disc would be more than enough to add a few extra rooms to a ship Not to sound like a fanboy, but Microsoft really screwed up with the DVD drive. 3806122
Actually I've ridden horses for longer than a half hour and while I felt a little stiff at the end of it, it wasn't too bad and after a little while of walking around I was back to normal.
3797338 I don't know, my sister would be bobbing to music while headshotting raiders and mutants... Luna would be a definite bonus.
with me beside her acting spotter and announcer, "Heead-shot, Double Kill! Multi Kill! Ma-ma-ma-ma-monster Kill-Kill-Kill...
3811749
So would I.
3806941
Actually, the limitations are because of the two consoles' low amounts of RAM compared to a PC. The 360 had grand total only half a gig of RAM(and my uses around 800-900 megabytes of memory most of the time on my PC), while the PS3 had the same amount but it was divided into two parts, the first half was for general use and the other half reserved for graphics processing.
I don't know how Ubisoft managed to get Assassin's Creed IV to look as good as it does on the consoles with such extreme memory limitations, as the game is heavily stuttering with my paltry 2 gigabytes of RAM.
The guys at Ubi Montréal are wizards.
Yes, they both lacked ram and the ps3 was the lower end of the stick there. But you could of easily added more rooms, just add more loading screens. 3817550
3817661 3817550
Not that I don't appreciate comments or anything, but can you move this somewhere else?
But it was about Fallout 3... And technically the current chapter 3817737
3817737
Like where? Give us a suggestion and we'll do it.
3817872
The biggest problem is that a lot of rooms(cells) are stored in memory even when they are not in use. Some crashes arise from this, when the data is corrupted for some reason/something happens to it and the game tries to load it. Not to mention bloating the memory.
The engine is just one big example of how a badly optimized engine works.
3818214
Try PMs. No offense, but this isn't exactly the type of comments I like to see.
That much I know, Gamebyro sucks butt. I should stop talking though, irritating the author it seems. 3818214
I've read most of the other "Wanderings" stories, but I really enjoyed this one so far. I'm also looking forward to how things develop as you go on, so fav'd.
3824369
Oh wow, it's you!
I actually got inspired to write this because of your stories and the interaction between Nightmare and Luna (though I'm going for a bit of a different angle I think). Anyways, it's great to know that you're enjoying this!
3824542
Heh, thanks. But I will say that I have been reading your other stories for a while, starting with Dark Wanderings. Just never got around to leaving a comment.
But, yeah, I am enjoying it and looking forward to the next update.
Ermahgawd I love this so hard.
They're such friends! I love it so much! X3
Good work on this story my friend :) legit, I love it more as each chapter passes by :)
Keep it up.
Yes, yes riding a horse/pony/any equine would be excutiatingly painful for anyone who does not do so on a regular basis.
There is something called chafing, that can be caused by your thighs or general groin area rubbing together for a prolonged period of time, for example: working a shift in a retail store. This will cause lumpy sores to form in the thighs from the friction, which are incredibly sensitive and painful.
And then there are saddle sores, which is chafing's big bastard half-brother with an anger management problem. It doesn't even have to be a saddle, anything ridden on that applies pressure to the thigh/groin area will cause it (bikes, motorcycles, bareback riding(which Sarah just did)) and yeah, she should be walking bow-legged for at least a few hours.
3824542
riding horses for a long periods of time are painful but fun. Only until the jump that's when it hurts pretty bad
4575353 so that's why cowboys walked like that in old cartoons :p
I think I was on a horse once when I was little. Just imagine, you have your legs in a position that isn't natural; not to mention, Sarah was riding bareback. That's gotta be harder on a woman considering their anatomy. I think that's why sidesaddle was invented.
I don't remember Sarah ever learning of a second personality. I take it she is fishing here.
