It has been years since the Mayor's rainbow generator overloaded and drained Hope Hollow of its color. Kerfuffle did her best to stay happy and inspired despite the new gray world she found herself in, but even she has her limits. It's hard to make art in a world of gray, and now Kerfuffle's inspiration has finally left her. Struggling to get by and remain upbeat in a hopeless and friendless town, the pegasus soon finds herself feeling as gray and empty as the world she lives in. But perhaps a close encounter with death will show her that maybe there are still ponies in Hope Hollow who care, and maybe she's not as hopeless and empty on the inside as she feels...

Torque Wrench receives a letter from Applejack one day, and reminisces over the last time she had been creative. And how poorly it had gone.

Original written for the Quills and Sofas Speedwriting Palette Cleanser contest. Incomplete during the contest and finished later.

All her life, Torque understood metals. Different Strengths. Different weaknesses. Different monetary values. Much like herself. Calm and subdued. Tempered even.

Now she finds herself working with an alien metal… and the part has to be perfect. But for what reason?

Torque Wrench is a young mare who's been a builder and repairpony for years. Kerfuffle is a fashion designer. These two ponies seem to come from two different worlds, but before Hope Hollow lost its color, they had been the best of friends born out of a bond neither of them had expected.

Can they rekindle their friendship? Or perhaps, will this become something more?

Set after the events of the Rainbow Roadtrip special, it's suggested that you've seen it before reading this.

After being exposed as the ring leader of Anon-A-Miss, Apple Bloom is "Banished" to the town of Allspark Wells. There she will live with her honorary "Uncle" Ironhide and his friends as she comes to terms with what she's done and rebuilds her life. As she gains new friends, Apple Bloom begins to realize that despite what she's done, she has a place to call home. After all, Allspark Wells is the place "where new futures are forged."

This story is written with the implication it is set in author SunnyDays’s “clipperverse,” and though not officially part of their universe, it is made with their permission.

While walking through Hope Hollow, Applejack (literally) bumps into an earth pony stallion who looks suspiciously similar to her older brother, Big Mac.

Bewilderedness and random banter ensues.

Whilst there, Torque gets to know a pony of legend, whom she'd never imagined she'd get to talk to.
