The now reformed King Sombra and Radiant Hope make their way home to the Crystal Empire upon recovering Princess Amore's shattered remains in hopes of restoring her. However, they quickly find that the memories of not just the citizens of the Empire, but the citizens of Equestria as a whole, have been twisted, believing now that Sombra is still evil. Sombra and Hope must now restore the good king's name in order to restore their shattered princess...

This story takes place in the canon of the comics, but to keep faithful to the tradition of the comics to follow show canon, it will also acknowledge the canon of the show.

In its earliest years, the Crystal Empire was no stranger to threats. Chief among these was the umbrum, a race of ancient shadow-beasts that stalked the arctic wastes. Seemingly born of pure malice, they took great pleasure in tormenting the crystal ponies—destroying their homes and breaking their spirits for fun. And as the Empire grew in both size and prominence, these attacks only became more abundant.

Princess Amore did everything in her power to keep the umbrum at bay. And by using her magic in combination with the Crystal Heart, she was largely successful. But against such overwhelming and unrelenting darkness, even she was pushed to her limits. And the umbrum were growing more cunning by the day. Eventually, something had to give.

Now faced with the darkest days the Crystal Empire has yet seen, Princess Amore will be put to the ultimate test. Against a hatred as old as the wind, can the love of a single pony really make a difference?

Canary wakes up in a cold, dank prison controlled by a batpony regime known as The Cloud. For centuries, they had taught pegasi that batponies alone could fly; pegasi wings were vestigial. When Canary and Aether discovered flight on their own, The Cloud mobilized to silence their rebellion. Though Canary was ready to die for her beliefs, her life takes a turn when she befriends a prison guard named Echo.

Flight is an allegory that explores the nature of Freedom, Truth, Depression, and Revelation. Keep your wings open!

Note: Flight is a stand-alone read. Before Flight gives background from Aether's perspective, from her forming of the Storm to her escape from Korporis. It answers a few questions that are kept in mystery until later in Flight, but I've kept it posted for your reading pleasure.
Re the cover picture: it seems to be a case of citogenesis. It's from a pintrest pin saying it's related to Thalo-Ryder on DeviantArt, but that account doesn't seem to have any art posted (anymore?). So thank you to whoever created it! The source goes to my doodle of Canary in the wind instead.

Starlight Glimmer couldn't be more relieved that everything ended well for her, Twilight Sparkle, and time itself. Yet despite going through life with a genuine smile on her face for the first time in ages, an ache in her chest suggests that not all is well.

Perhaps she never truly earned forgiveness. Starlight wonders if her reactions were so unjustified to where being forgiven would be impossible. And most of all, she ponders whether the punishment she feared would come crashing down on her. A peculiar letter addressed to her also doesn't help matters.

Her only viable option is to talk with Twilight.

Scootaloo wants a weather cutie mark, and Rarity did agree to help. This should be simple, right? It's just too bad that they mix together about as well as oil and petunias.

Inspired by the Pony Demand Mod for Victoria 2.

In a world where a nation of sapient, logical horses hold sway in the Nineteenth Century, the stage of world politics is...different.

On the West Coast of North America, in a land known as "California" to the humans, Equestria lies. It is a peaceful land, untouched by the ideals of liberalism, war, etc. That peaceful ignorance, however, will not last for long...
