Starlight Glimmer couldn't be more relieved that everything ended well for her, Twilight Sparkle, and time itself. Yet despite going through life with a genuine smile on her face for the first time in ages, an ache in her chest suggests that not all is well.

Perhaps she never truly earned forgiveness. Starlight wonders if her reactions were so unjustified to where being forgiven would be impossible. And most of all, she ponders whether the punishment she feared would come crashing down on her. A peculiar letter addressed to her also doesn't help matters.

Her only viable option is to talk with Twilight.

One tiny thing with this story.

"To remind you that you're not alone." Luna ruffled her wings. "And I went through a learning experience of my own during Nightmare Night over a year ago.

I wonder, whats your head canon for how many years have passed? Because we have had two nightmare nights and like two winter wrap ups.
Overall I do like the story.

6817126 I'm of the opinion that a little over a year passed between S1 and S3 with many of the events in S5 being a year or more after S1 and S2 episodes. Since "Scare Master" likely took place before "The Cutie Re-Mark," I feel as though a year and maybe a month or two have passed since "Luna Eclipsed."

It's just my headcanon and you're more than welcome to agree or disagree. Anyway, thank you for checking out the story. I highly appreciate it!

You have done an excellent job on capturing Starlight Glimmer and her inner struggles of redemption. She really needs a lot more love.

6817138 Yeah, I'm of the opinion that she has a lot of potential when it comes to stories.

And thank you for checking out the story as well.

feel the need to restate this "needing forgiveness and earning it aren't the same". Forgiveness is weird as it's something you can't really tell if someone is deserving of till after you give them it. Many problems arise form people not knowing this. You can't tell if someone deserves forgiveness until you see what they do with it, how ever we fall into the trap of expecting someone to show us what they will do with our fogiveness BEFORE we give it

6817320 You make a good point in regards to the concept of forgiveness. It is quite tricky to define it at times, but in regards to Starlight Glimmer in the concluding parts of the Season 5 finale, she does seem to be on the right track in regards to becoming a better pony. Future experiences and problems will ultimately determine how much she has changed and what she needs to learn. I guess Season 6 will answer some of those questions about Starlight's future.

And thank you for checking out the story. I appreciate it.

Not bad! Lots of rich description! That's how I like it!

9.3/10 from me!

Starlight wondering why she was forgiven so easily...check.
Twilight being kind in her explanations...check.
The reason for Starlight's action clarified and not ridiculed...check.
A reasonable excuse why they didn't have any contact...plausible.

Have a like and a fav.:pinkiehappy:

6971294 Yep! It was interesting thinking about Starlight Glimmer and the events regarding the season finale. Maybe we'll learn more about her in the sixth season. Also, thank you for checking out the story. I highly appreciate it!
