This was a great chapter and Ienjoyed it greatly. I would certainly enjoy reading about Eclipse's reward for the converted Weather Team. I recall that Eclipse was already somewhat larger before she took on the sixe of a Saddle Arabian so I assume that Eclipse and Nightmarity are roughly size of S1 Luna. Nightmarity's reaction to her sister's actions was funny. I also like Sunset's confidence.
I've finally caught up to the current chapter of this story and not too long ago I had a realization. The Juniper Neptune from "Unleash the Magic - Midnight Rising" is different from the Juniper Neptune from "Unleash the Magic - Nightmare Night." Their personalities and appearances are different if you look into it. This means that they both come from separate realities. Not sure if anybody else noticed it, but I decided to point this out.
Me before playing: There is no possible way an 8-bit game can be scary.
Me after playing: I want my mommy.
Or, as Midnight likes to call the incidents, "date night."
Dredging up her own faded memories is exactly the sort of borderline-cheating mindhack I'd expect from Sunset on the warpath. Nice touch.
"Satisfy your values through friendship and humans."
"Why does that sound like a reference?"
"Internet."
"Is that you answer for everything?"
"It is the answer to everything."
Definitely some... interesting activities going on as Sunset makes her way to ythe final showdown. I do love both the sibling teasing and Spike being a truly noble dragon. Looking forward to the beginning of the end.
Man, rather strange to have Discord appear for so long and not drop some of his snark.

Thanks! I’ll see about doing such a chapter later.
Eclipse normally remains the same stature that she was as Twilight, but Rarity grew when she became Nightmarity; she’s now roughly the size of Cadance or Fleur de Lis. Since Nightmare Moon is in fact a bit bigger than even a restored Luna, it makes sense that Nightmare Rarity would be bigger than her original form as well.
Glad you thought so! Cyber Belle is the the only creature there who could get away with teasing her big sister like that, and she knows it. And Sunset is quite confident. Not entirely without reason, as you can see, but Delta’s right to worry, too. Sunset made a subtle but important oversight in her portal preparations that will be revealed before long.

Sorry to disappoint, but they’re the same being. The difference in their personalities basically boils down to the fact the Nightmare Night Juniper Neptune doesn’t (yet) remember what happened in Midnight Rising, because her memories were wiped along with the rest. When she arrived on Earth in MR, she was overjoyed to find what she thought was the answer to her line’s endless search of ultimate cosmic power, and thus, she instantly and quite eagerly allied herself with Midnight. Don’t think that Midnight doesn’t remember that...

Never played the video game; I just figured I needed an obligatory Story of the Blanks reference for this. The story was creepy enough, and even halfway believable in terms of the show.

She does indeed! I’ll probably borrow that later.
Appreciated, thanks! I greatly enjoyed writing her sections. In my view, Sunset’s actually a more learned and powerful mage than Starlight is, and thus can give Twilight more trouble. No offense to Starlight’s strength, but growing up, Sunset was far more interested in raw magical power and thus, a lot more more motivated to learn as much ancient and arcane/forbidden spellcasting as she could. And like she said, being Celly’s student meant she had develop strong magical defenses to conceal what she was doing. It makes sense, at least to me.
...
Fuck if that’s not brilliant. For the record, I’m shamelessly stealing that for later in the story, and don’t worry, I’ll credit you when I do.
Glad you enjoyed! For the record, Cyber Belle’s probably the only one there who could get away with teasing Nightmarity like that. And yeah, I’ve taken pains to depict Spike in a good light here only because he got dumped on a little too often in the show. What can I say? I like the now-not-so-little guy.

Kind of hard to snark when you’re paralyzed and completely at the mercy of four sexually corrupted your versions of your friends! But at least Rarity is making sure he’s attended to, and she is listening to his thoughts. I guess I could have let readers hear his thoughts directly, but I wanted the focus to remain entirely on Rarity’s perspective here. YMMV if it worked.

Damn it. Please forgive me and my aluminum foil hat. I should really look at all the necessary info before jumping to conclusions. Frankly, I should leave the theories to people who are smarter than I am.
With the difference in style and personality between the two Junipers, I assumed that they had to be different. It never occurred to me that the differences would be a result of certain events taking place across your stories. This creates even more questions. Is the difference between the two Junipers a result of the events in the other story or is it a result of Juniper trying to stay professional and keep her more sadistic side in check?
Please don't take too long getting the next chapter out. I know I'm not the only one eager to see Sunset and Eclipse face off.
You know, one thing that bothered me was that, all of them were OK with leaving AJ and Big Mac with minds of (very intelligent but still) dogs. Even Granny Smith and AB. I don't think they can talk. Degrading. Sure, Rarity might like the treatment but stable relationship is also about communication. how long before she'll be bored with her. Though I guess it could be used as an argument, that the Corrupted are not as Harmonious as they think.
I have to ask, would Celestia really try to read Sunset's mind or she was paranoic?
OK, pretty cool. Besides the obvious of learning the opponent's powers and weaknesses, she can learn about every trap and learn info that she can use for psychological warfare. And as a former bully she knows a thing or two about it. And after Holiday Unwrapped it seems she can learn information from objects which makes this ability simply OP. Though, in this particular situation it might be a slow way for her corruption.

So Sunset would be something of Strong but Unskilled (thought she still can be in Strong and Skilled category)? What I mean is, she knows a lot of flashy and powerfull spells but lacks in practicality? She knows Final Flash, but ignored Solar Flare for being weak.
Sunny, Sunny Sunny... You're having your confidence moment. By the way, possible Demon Sunset returning, maybe having Sci-Twi and Midnight temporarily fuse together just in case Sunset bucks up. (The reason I don't want Midnight to be erased is because her constant trolling and horndog bait makes SciTwi less bland.)

Overlapping interests with the EaW fanbase lol, shoulda picked a generic name shrug
Dang, the chapters with Spike are so good. Looking forward to more!
Well, I’m not *that* smart, if I left this comment unanswered for nearly a year! Seriously, I’m very sorry.
The short answer is that she wasn’t really herself in the other story, both because of Midnight’s magical influence and because she thought she’d just been given the means to attain the destiny of her Highborne race on a platter. When that happened, all other bets were off, and you can bet that Middie remembers that Juniper swore allegiance to her and why.

I took a year to not only do that, but answer this comment. I’m truly embarrassed and sorry, but at least I can say that a new chapter is finally posted. I hope you enjoy!

It’s a valid point. But the chances are very good that things will never get to that point, and as you’ll see in the next chapter, there’s other arguments that Sunset can make regarding how well a curse-corrupted society will work. And more correctly, why it can’t.
Not as a rule, no, but she’s certainly capable of it and since she was plotting to usurp Celly, Sunset couldn’t take the chance, either.
I still haven’t seen Holiday Unwrapped. I guess I better make viewing it a priority! Is she in danger of corruption? Yes, but thanks to her experience with Midnight, she’s far more capable than most of resisting it, too.
Funny you should say that, as you *might* say she knows a version of Solar Flare. You’ll see what I mean in the next chapter.

Continuing with my well-overdue comment replies...
*has sudden image of Twilight and Midnight performing the Fusion Dance from DBZ.
Sunny has some reason to be confident, and we’ll see how well she performs under pressure. Then again, given what happens in the next chapter, maybe DBZ isn’t a bad point of reference!
Oh, I agree. I’ve actually already dealt with what happens when their two personalities merge over in my latest story, Harmonic Resonance, which was a commissioned clopfic. Their combined personality was pretty interesting, and I daresay fitting. As for what will happen *here*, we’ll have to wait and see, but I will say that I’m not about to kill off Midnight like the show did, simply because like Delta said—she’s part of Twilight and you can’t remove her without tearing her soul asunder.

Sorry for being a month late with my reply!
Thanks! What can I say? I like the now not-so-little guy, and I really wanted him to get some serious tail here. If you want additional dragon action, check out my original Unleash the Magic - Midnight Rising, available off my story page. You’ll get several chapters of it there!
Late to the party here but damn do I wish Annie could've gone ahead with that in this!
