I know Chrysalis is evil, but I don't think the other changelings deserved their fate. When Twilight finds out what Trixie did, she will probably be upset since they just committed genocide on the changelings. Plus, it seems Trixie's clone may be involved since Chrysalis mentioned an arrogant blue pony.

Chrysalis seems distinctly more murderous in this fic than the show, so I don't feel all that bad.

On another note, I've really liked this chapter, much like the rest of the story, and it's good to see that the changelings are dealt with. But I don't think Chrysalis will just leave them alone for too long, so there's that.

Wait, how did four years pass already?
From reading the story the citadel construction had only been going for about a year or less,
then it was Luminous birthday (the first one she had had with Twilight),
the day after Luminous birthday Twilight was captured by bug changelings and then she was rescued a few days/weeks later.

And yet now twilight refers to other times that they have celebrated Luminous birthday before she was captured, that's kind of a large invisible time skip in between two paragraphs in chapter 37.
It is possible that Twilight is loosing her sense of time from all the time she has spent in the hedge if the evidence of time being different there is true.

I read an incredible amount of books. as a result i've read a fairly large portion of fantasy. take note though, the laws regarding the Fae are up for a relatively large amount of debate, and its unclear of how many of the laws are magical in nature or just self imposed.

A fair amount of my knowledge stems from the Tales of the Brothers Grimm, and other similar books.

I daren't give a time when it'll be out, except for 'soon' which I know is frustrating, but one of the other reasons I've been late in getting back to this is I'm also working on illustrations for earlier chapters, while working on art things to sell at an upcoming furry convention.

That was an interesting read. Very confusing to follow at times, but good.
The thing that rankles me the most is Twilight's extremely inconsistent powerlevel. One moment she's magic and vengeance incorporated, the other she's hit in the back of the head by a foal vielding a lego-brick. It's... confusing.

Still, when she does go full-badass it's very awesome to read, and I've had a blast reading the story. Though this last chapter felt... wrong. I can't imagine that either Twilight or Luna would condone Trixies actions here. Hell, they spared the Beast's... beasts, who's mission was nothing else but destruction, while the changelings(you know which) only seek food.

I guess we'll have to see. I really like the story, even with its flaws.

The way I understood it, Twilight's escape caused the mountain to collapse, killing/severely injuring about 3/4 of the changelings. I'd say this is more genocidal than Trixie's follow-up.

That might be true, but that was pretty much their own fault for capturing and trying to control a very well known powerful entity. Expecting that to go smoothly is just being stupid. And there were obviously quite a lot of changelings left afterwards.

What Trixie did was genocidal, as in wiping out a species, what Twilight did was a counter-attack/explosive escape.

Fair enough. But going back to the issue of whether or not Trixie will be forgiven, I think Twilight will definitely forgive her. Not just because Twilight is just amazing like that, but because she has more bug-changeling blood on her hooves than that of a vengeful Trixie with a toad army.
