The Conversion Bureau genre was created on March 23rd, 2011. I chose to celebrate the anniversary of the humble origins of one of the most potent and unique of all MLP:FIM subgenres of fanfiction through the invention of completely original, shockingly new visions of the central concept.

This story is on indefinite hiatus. I've grown out of MLP and this story. What's there is yours to read, however updates may never happen, as much as it pains me to admit.

This is a direct side-story spinoff to "A Twist in the Tail".

Edge used to be human. She used to be a man. Then one day, she was foolish enough to break into a Conversion Bureau to steal some Potion. Believing it all to be a plot to 'scoop out the brains of humans', he downs it. She wakes up as a pegasus pony with an audience with the princesses...

For her crimes, she is sentenced to community service.

In the frozen north of the Equestrian Wasteland lays a city, battered and crippled, but still clinging to life. It is beset on all sides my dangers.

Displaced griffins rage against the ponies they blame for the apocalypse. Madmares brood with their unquestioning minions under mountains of prewar technology. The Unity extends its malefic tendrils to sake it endless hunger for slaves. Unnatural horrors stalk the forests, consuming all in their path. A dozen factions rage against each other in wars of words, caps, secrets and fire, tearing at the very foundation of The Sovereign City. All the while an ancient threat prepares to once again, bathe its self in the blood and anguish of ponies.

Here is sort of my interpretation on how the ponies came to be and how Equestria was made.

Sometimes, bonds between friends transcend time and space. Following my return home, I (The Author) enjoyed my life as a Human...But, I felt the need to go back and see the friends who I held dear, so I could see them again, and forge a new life for myself in Equestria. But, something went wrong on my way back...and now, I'm in the magic-blasted lands which once housed the colorful, idealistic world I was once so proud of...

(This is an Alternate Continuation of my previous fanfic, "On Light Hooves I Tread". As such, I advise you to read that first, to get a clue on some of the elements of this fanfic.)

Canderous Nord was just a simple pilot in the universe of New Eden, doing whatever he can do to get by, yet he soon finds his way into the ranks of the Gallente Federation Navy.
