There is no reason to tell your opponent that the liquid armor is also a trap waiting to spring when Maddie has the vampony pinned. Blabbing that it's really Gel is just asking for trouble (that could lead to more deaths). As far as this vampony knows, Maddie is wearing some fancy new armor to make up for the "handicap" of not draining the living like this vampony has. I really don't think there's a difference on sampling versus draining a pony dry, it's more likely the fact it's alicorn blood that's the difference.
