After their defeat at the Battle of the Bands, the Dazzlings retreat into self-confinement to lick their wounds whilst they reassess their entire strange and fated lives from their beginnings in Equestria, up to the present. However, learning how to cope with the world and each other—living an immortal life in a powerless body—might just be more than any of them can bear.

Lines are blurred in this dark, historical, novelesque sirens origin story of innocence lost, heartache, betrayal, hope, and of course, beautiful music.

After the Battle of the Bands, Aria Blaze had no idea what to do with her sisters. That is, until a certain kind of guy shows up, leading a new punk band called 'Next Generation'. Aria Blaze decides to hang with them, and she then becomes a part of the rising punk band. She stands by Anthem Flare, and together with all the other members, they make the best punk band there ever was! And plus, the two grow close through an adventure none will ever forget. About a week after the defeat of the Dazzlings, the latest threat to Canterlot High, one of its members shows up out of the blue. Of course, she is shunned and rejected by almost everyone. Everyone except Sunset Shimmer... and me.

Sunset Shimmer is tired of having to prove herself in front of those who won't give her a second chance. Her reformation seems more like a burden than anything. After a stressful day at school, Sunset decides it's better she just give up on Friendship. Feeling defeated once again, Sunset takes a late night stroll through the city....only to bump into...herself?

This story takes place before Rainbow Rocks, making it AU since it branches off into something else, I believe.
