When Twilight Sparkle slipped beneath the covers last night, everything had been fine. She had friends whom she loved, a teacher she adored, and a bright future ahead of her. But when she woke up, her blankets and quilts had been replaced by hospital gowns and padded restraints.

Everything is wrong and nothing makes sense; even her friends have changed. The doctors keep telling her that she is sick, that none of it was real and that it was all in her head. Yet she remembers a life far beyond the hospital walls. She couldn't have made it all up on her own. They must be lying… right?

The mane 6 are now elders, but they aren't the mane 6 anymore. The mane 2. Granny Applejack and Granny Rainbow Dash are remaining, and they have their last adventure together.

Applejack has always been known as one of the strongest and most dependable ponies in Ponyville. She is sturdy, down-to-earth, and unwavering - the kind of pony others knew they could rely on through thick and thin. But the inexorable march of time never ceases, and the cruel hand of fate knows no mistress. Even the most reliable of ponies can be pushed past their breaking point, and even the strongest can be brought to their knees. How can one mare hope to keep her hooves on the ground when her whole world is falling down around her?

Some of Fluttershy's friends thought Fluttershy was a tree.
They are both half right.

Fluttershy's nineteenth birthday sets into motion a chain of events that makes her question who she really is. Meanwhile Slender Mane slowly closes in on her.

Little is known about Fluttershy's past. Aside from her days in flight camp with Rainbow Dash, her friends know almost nothing about her foalhood. But it's on a lonely night when Twilight Sparkle finds a gentle yellow pegasus crying by herself, and learns the shocking truth about Fluttershy's parents.

When your life is as dull a gray as the world that surrounds you, the mundanities can make it all seem meaningless. Sometimes all we need is a little color -- or six -- to reintroduce us to what truly makes life worth living.

[Featured on EqD and FiM Fiction] Chrysalis is brought to Canterlot to stand trial for her failed invasion. Thinking her fate is sealed, she is determined to be defiant to the very end. Loosely based on March to the Scaffold, the 4th movement of the musical piece Symphonie Fantastique by Hector Berlioz.

Shining Armor dies protecting Canterlot from evil griffon/ changeling hybrids. Princess Cadence wants to bring him back to life, her aunt Celestia and Twilight Sparkle try to warn her against it but Cadence can't let him go.

Deep in the Everfree Forest, Spike must be strong for Fluttershy.

(This was a challenge I took on: Write a Spike x Fluttershy sadfic in 60 minutes. This is my first ever sadfic, so please be lenient with me.)
