But when a mysterious message appears on his mom's friend Trixie's phone, from a number that once belonged to his mom's old lab beneath her castle, Arc sets out on a journey to find his mom that will take him to the very place he thought was just a bedtime story: inside the computer itself.

Inside, he finds himself entangled in a plot to lure his mother into the open, so that these malignant programs may escape to the outside world and enslave all of Equestria. Only one pony he knows could possibly help him stop them -- the one pony he has been searching for his entire life.

When a mysterious pocket watch is discovered inside Twilight's old doll Smarty Pants, the Mane Six find themselves on a quest to Canterlot and the Crystal Empire. The Elements of Harmony are once again at stake, as Twilight learns more about how the Elements came to be, which old nemesis is returning, and just where her foalsitter Cadance got the idea to create Smarty Pants in the first place.

Twilight had always been a diligent researcher. She would routinely pour over every book she had at her disposal in preparation for every royal assignment. Except, sometimes books can only teach one so much. With this heretical idea in mind, Fluttershy and Rainbow Dash decide to take it upon themselves to make sure Twilight keeps her wings clean, and doesn't embarrass herself in the sky.

After becoming an alicorn princess, Twilight Sparkle needs to get used to having wings and learn how to fly. Fortunately, she's got the two best fliers in Ponyville to teach her!
