Starlight Glimmer's plan is working. All she has to do is upset Rainbow Dash's rainboom-creating race in the past, and Twilight Sparkle's connection with her friends will be severed. And she's done it. Repeatedly. Sure, Twilight can go back in time to try and stop her, but Starlight will always be brought back as well. No matter what Twilight tries, no matter how many times she returns, she can't stop Starlight. They're evenly-matched, and it's much easier to disrupt events than it is to preserve them.

That means Starlight wins, right?

A head full of romance is what many Canterlot ponies would call a frivolous waste of time. After years of shame and ridicule, archaeologist and explorer Lyra Heartstrings stumbles across a discovery that validates all her theories and ideas in one fell swoop. Along with her best friend, Bon Bon, and her old classmate Cadance, they find themselves faced with a mystery and marvel that may change everything.

Following the next greatest lead found in the database of an ancient race, another international team is formed. Led by Doctors Carter and Jackson, they strike out to explore another network of Stargates discovered in a galaxy on the edge of the local cluster. Upon the return of Princess Luna {Circa 0 AR} and the ascension of the Princess of Friendship, Twilight Sparkle {Circa 4 AR}, Equestria experienced a technological boom the likes of which had never been seen before or have been seen in the 100 years since. The nation progressed from fossil fuels to self-sustaining Arcano-Antimatter reactors to power the country within the span of fifteen years. Within seventeen years Major Charging Dawn of the Celestial Air Brigade was the first pony to set foot on the moon through means non-related to the usage of the elements of Harmony. Within twenty-five years, the first warp drive was created.

Within a hundred years, where we stand now, the universe has expanded in a way that none could have predicted before the return of Princess Luna and the ascension of Princess Twilight. It is this author’s humble opinion that the Princesses exerted a kind of pressure on the creative and innovative sparks of the beings of the world, whilst Princess Twilight increased their predilection for working together in friendship and harmony. The two elements, when combined, resulted in the massive explosion of technology that has been observed over the last century.

And now, the Equestrian Interplanetary Alliance discovers the answer to the biggest question asked since ponykind first looked to the stars.

They are not alone.

Luna has been redeemed by the elements of harmony, but is finding that salvation is harder to come by. Ponies avoid her, the memories of Nightmare Moon still fresh in their minds. Additionally, after a thousand years of solitude and silence, she’s having trouble adjusting to life in noisy, crowded, living Equestria.

Change never happens easily, and Luna struggles despite the help of her sister and new friends, failing as much as she succeeds.

Perhaps the Moon, her prison for so very long, is truly where Luna belongs after all.
