Called to The Crystal Empire by Shining Armor, Sunburst is tasked with interviewing their newest arrival from the north: Former King Sombra.

As he tries to find out the hows and whys of this enigmatic villain's mysterious return, Sunburst finds there's something more lingering beneath the surface.

And despite wanting to be left alone to rot, Sombra finds connection to a past he'd prefer to forget and decisions unable to be taken back.

After Appleloosa's orchard of apples is spiked with bootleg sleeping potions, Sunburst finds himself called to their aid as all of Princess Twilight's other friends were busy at the time.

Thankfully, he finds himself enjoying the company of Braeburn, the town's official unofficial welcoming committee and host for his stay in Appleloosa.

But hopefully it won't interfere with his studies too much.

Months after Sombra had surrendered to the Crystal Empire, Cadence and Shining decided if it's possible to reform one of the most notorious villains in Equestrian history. At the same time, Shining starts to get suspicious when the ex-king asks for paper daily but never see what he does with it. Deciding to investigate, he finds the remains of a manuscript that, after cleaning the ash with a spell, he finds that it turned out to be a novel written by Sombra in which gives him a window into his thoughts and feelings towards him.

After King Sombra narrowly escapes his demise yet again after his attempts to conquer Equestria. Sombra was weakened and wandered through Equestria only to end up in the Kirin village, completely exhausted. But luckily one talkative Kirin took in the dark unicorn to nurse him back to proper health. Sombra was annoyed by the talkative Kirin, but decided to wait until he returns to full power and crush all who defy him. Only if he survives the Kirin's insistent talking. Or, possibly even warms up to her and see the world in a new light.

Sins of the Father Arc: With his father back in his life, Junior finds himself caught up in situations that turn his entire world upside down. In comes new friends, and new revelations. From the shadows, enemies plot to bring chaos. And somehow, the Takeshi lineage is at the center of it. (Chapter 16-72).

One day the world took a turn for the insane. Earth and Equestria connected and now humans and ponies live together in harmony. Bronies are now a widespread culture and everyone is happy because of it. Everyone except me the only sane person alive. I know that this isn't right and I know that maybe one day humanity will wake up. They will see how stupid they've made the world and what they let into their hearts. One day I'll finally feel like I'm not an outsider. One day ponies and all pony sympathizers will perish in a violent spectacular marvel.

Through a miraculous and cruel twist of fate, Sombra has survived death yet again. However, his many defeats have left him broken and near feral, and the Princesses see no option but to lock him away. Starlight Glimmer, seeing more than the rage and hate the others see, feels pity for the fallen king, and offers to take Sombra under her care to try and reform him.

She quickly finds out Sombra's more broken than anyone believes, and it's going to be a rocky road to redemption, but even the darkest shadows can take solace in the starlight.
