Long Reads: 10,000+ Words, is a group created for those of us who don't settle for short stories. Don't get us wrong, they have their place, but sometimes you want a meaty story, something that takes a few hours to read. Well, this is a group exclusive to stories of at least 10,000 words. It can be about anything, crossover, adventure, romance, etc. But it has to be at least 10,000 words total.

Maybe, really depends, but I've got to cramp out 4k words on my own fic before March or I'll be behind on my quota. I, unfortunately, hit a small writer block and while I could flip a coin, it's not something I plan or particularly like.

Mine has a wordcount of about 56-58k, depending on the source you read it from. Would that suit your needs? ;)

also, just joined, so HEYO peeps! xP

Do you think 10k words is a long read? Please, to me those are just one-shots. A decent short story to me is 50-60k, and a good long read is 200k+.

Of course, none of that all matters when you consider the fact I have no life and am practically on fimfiction 24 hours a day, excluding sleep.

is there any restriction, on what story I could place here; other than being on the FiM site?

Hi everyone! Just joined your group. Glad to be here!

Sup. SSD here, just a guy looking to make the ideal, high quality Sonic/MLP crossover that's clearly in short supply on the web. Just got over the 10,000 mark.

Anypony up for the challenge of reading my 60,000+ word count story?

Last time I looked, that was allowed (my G3 crossover is over 250000 words, incomplete, and in the group.) Though the rules may have changed since I added the story. I think there's a forum post with the rules, that you can look at.

Since I am new on this group, I went over to the forum, only to find no reference, then checked a few stories in order to confirm what it was we were looking for.
Now I found a few stories to confirm what I was hoping for.
From there I posted two stories I hope does go along with the rules. If not, let me know.

Assuming I am right, I may have a few more stories to post, just need to go over the folders carefully in order to see exactly where to place the following stories, if and when I do post any further stories.

A final note: do we post in one, or all the folders where the story may fit?
Either way, I may need some help with where my stories will belong.

10,000 words... per chapter? I know of a few fics that meet that requirement. :derpytongue2:

I have a group called Bronies for Life and I'm looking for new members. If you are interested, just tap the link. Thank you!

I've started a group on Fimfiction called the Tournament of Canterlot where authors can submit their stories and then try to get their followers to sponsor them by donating to Oxfam’s Syria appeal. At the end of 2015, the stories who’ve gained the most sponsorship share in cash prizes up to $5,000, depending on how much is raised.

There’s also a place for musicians, voice actors and other brony artists to offer prizes for specialized criteria such as the story with the best villain or the best shipping; motivating authors to advertise their stories/ the tournament, therefore raising more money for the Syrian Refugees.

Woot! Guessing Games made it to over 10k words!

Apparently that's not as impressive as I may have thought but I'm still excited. :pinkiehappy:
