There is one thing about Nightmare Night that most sensitive ponies don't like. Fear. This night had everything there was to spread fear. Darkness, scary pumpkins, costumes of monsters, and of course, haunted attractions.

A few nights ago, Rainbow Dash asked Fluttershy to join her this night in a special haunted attraction for two. It was guaranteed to scare the ghosts out of any parties who participated.

Fluttershy now asks, why did she agree to go?

Rainbow Dash was thrilled to take her vacation this summer at Las Pegasus. But an unexpected threat causes her to injure her hooves, making her end her vacation early. She can fly, but that doesn't make her ache go away.

She doesn't like it, but she has to return home to rest her aching hooves. Fortunately, or unfortunately for her, Fluttershy and Scootaloo notice her early arrival. One of them has an idea to soothe those aching hooves.

Fluttershy has seen and learned about many different types of animals. At the same time, there were many she didn't know. Now she would discover one of those creatures she's never seen.

Actually, it was probably a creature nopony's ever seen. It looked like a pony, but to Fluttershy, behaved like an animal. After all, she felt the same joy around it that she felt with all her critters. But what was it?

And most importantly, why was Rainbow Dash that creature?

The life of a Changeling isn't one to call lovely. Living in a family like this, changed that. Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy loved their daughter with all their heart. The last thing their daughter wanted was for that to change.

Because of that, she vowed that she would never change back. She would forever be their loving daughter. And as long as they continued to love her like a true family would, she could keep her form.

But how long will it really last? Would she have to change back if they ever found out? Questions like that kept lingering in her mind. And every time they did, she would smile them off. Until then, loving her family was all that mattered.

Two years had passed since Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy had started dating. Today was the day they agreed to start a family. This day was going to start a brand new beginning to their relationship. And they couldn't be happier when their foal was born.

But a mishap starts when Fluttershy reveals something. Something so innocent that it could break their family before it even started, and possibly, their relationship.

How could she hope to break such innocence?

The time to prepare for Winter is coming up. Everypony has a duty to fulfill whenever such seasons take place.

But this year, the weather teams find themselves in a dilemma. Ponyville's bird population has become so high, Equestria is unable to shelter them all for when they fly south. Without shelter, they'll not only freeze their feathers off, but also starve due to the lack of edible food for their kind.

Rainbow Dash knows that there is only one hope for their survival. They must fly farther south than they have ever flown before. They must fly across the open seas outside of Equestria, where banished ponies and unnatural magic take place. Rainbow Dash thought she would take it upon herself to search these foreign lands, until she noticed Fluttershy coming as well. Maybe she had her reasons, considering this was for the birds' sakes, but these were dangerous lands that no other pegasus in Equestria would dare cross.

As they work together to search outside of Equestria, they learn things about these unnatural lands, they were better off not knowing.

Hidden feelings can peak out from the smallest moments. Those small moments can lead to a series of events where those feelings blossom overtime. Sometimes, they were already there, and sometimes, all it needs is just that one push.

For Fluttershy, it starts off with a simple contact with her hooves. Now an uncomforting tingle spreads through her hooves anytime one of her animals come in contact with them. Rainbow Dash helps her through this problem. But it is Rainbow Dash who helps her understand and accept what it really is.

But these trials don't end when one accepts these feelings. It only begins, for the both of them.

Fluttershy was afraid of this new feeling, but Rainbow Dash will help lead her through it, as they explore their hoof fetishes.

When the weather hasn't been to her animal critters' likings lately, Fluttershy ends up getting many requests from them to change it around their area so that they could play more often. But Fluttershy knows next to nothing about how to control weather clouds. Thankfully, her best friend Rainbow Dash is an expert on weather clouds. So who better to teach her about how to use weather clouds than her?

Unfortunately, they soon learn that this was the worst possible day to ask.

This story is the prequel to this. Since it's a prequel, you probably don't have to read that to enjoy this. But if you've read it, you'll most likely know the direction this takes. The sequel was written before this.
