Not much I can say other than, great job on the exchanges, emotional content, humor and future chapter set-up in all the right places. I particularly liked the reference to the story that inspired this universe in the first place.
As for the two bits of news, I am going to wager that one of the pieces of news is that Shiny, Spike and Twi are going to have a younger sibling in a few months. As for the other, I am not even going to hazard a guess. Still, I am definitely going to be looking forward to more of this as soon as time and inspiration will allow.

Oh really, the parents are worried because of Discord and a few isolated incidents that Twily wasn't involved in at all? Sounds like they're overprotective and not in a good way, especially since they're going to have another child soon. I mean really, they gave Shining Armor permission to look after his little sister, and by all accounts he hasn't slipped up yet.

Nice chapter, though I found a small little thing you may want to edit.
Once again, Velvet is letting her concerns get the best of her. Look at what hasn't happened at all since she left Twilight in Shining's care. Not once has Twilight ended up in a situation where she was hurt or in any real danger, Shining has done a fine job of protecting her and many of the threats were resolved before they had a chance to become major.
Oh no ... poor Twily. Hope she'll at least be able to visit often, if something doesn't change her parents' minds.
...Why do I have the sneaking suspicion that Sonata is the one who, intentionally or not, will end up fixing this whole mess?

I have to admit, the detail about the doughnuts on the horn was both funny and touching under the circumstances. And, hopefully, things will stay quiet around Ponyville long enough for Shiny and Twi's parents to change their minds. Or, at the very least, something happens in Canterlot that convinces Light and Velvet that Ponyville might be safer after all (especially when their son [who can produce force fields around an entire city] lives there now). Well, I have to admit I'm a little sad about how this last chapter ended. On the other hand, the exchanges and emotional content were all well done in all the right places. I also really liked the stuff that showed how much her friends genuinely care about her and, now that she knows how good it feels to have friends, Twi might be willing to give Moon Dancer and the others a fair chance back in Canterlot. Unfortunately, Twi's parents seem unlikely to change their minds until the Season 2 finale (which is probably the earliest we can see a situation that, at the very least, convinces Light and Velvet that Canterlot ISN'T any safer than Ponyville). At any rate, I'll be looking forward to more of your work as soon as time and inspiration will allow.

Based on The Crystaling, Shining Armor is kind of a doofus but SHEESH! To get him to take a hint, apparently you have to inscribe it on an anvil & bounce it off his thick head. The problem with that is, it usually breaks the anvil.

The first story was boring as it seemed a copy&paste, but the other stories were good and more original that other stories that just put the characters in similar things, yet you for example did not cover much of the gala (that everyone knows) or put Pumpkin and Pound more older and in another class with Twilight, something that I for one liked... Are you going to make more Shinyverse stories? I for one could want to see Shining visiting the Canon Verse, or Twilight visiting the Shinyverse
Also, I really think it's a bad idea to separate Shining and Twily, I mean, in Canterlot she did not have any friend of her age, that was one of the reason they decided to give a chance, and Twilight in ponyville is also helping others and is happy. Meanwhile in Canterlot she could still be in danger, be depressed and do worse in exams. Not to say they are expecting another foal, and they will not have enough time.

Not specifically for the Shiny-verse, no. However, it has its own folder in the Blame Defender 2222 since the idea was based on his Crisis of Infinite Twilights story.
