somewhat AU. With her career coming to an end and nowhere else to go, city pony Rarity must move to Ponyville. Can she ever learn to get along? Especially with somepony who is her polar opposite like Applejack? Eventual Rarijack.

Rarity is ruined. After 5 years of designing outfits and costumes that make even the most snobbish of ponies envious, every pony has lost interest in her fashion style... no pony in Equestria wants to do with anything "old" or "strange" and Rarity is losing all of her clients. With bills piling up and Rarity unable to find any amount of work, even making cheesy costumes for school plays, Rarity is forced to sell her home and belongings; and file bankruptcy... Applejack, seeing her lifelong crush in finical ruin, decides to let Rarity and Sweetie Bell live on the farm to help out until they get back on their hooves.

Rarity and Applejack have been married for over 2 years, but what's this? Rarity is pregnant? - Rest assured, I love this ship too much so I didn't make this warrant a "Sad" category. Also, "Alternate Universe" is for lack of twilicorn.

As Vinyl is rising in the music business; Rarity is having her first real challenge of her career as a fashion designer. Faced with the blank sheet syndrom, Rarity begins to run in circles and falls in a state of panic and neglect. Just as Rarity's moral hits bottom Patty, a good old friend, gives her the only good advise she can : have fun ! Forget about work for a night and start from scratch again !
And what better place to have fun than Vinyl's gig... But who's that stuning blonde on the dance floor?

In a stroke of luck, Rarity finds herself piled up to her neck in work. She tries to recruit the aid of her best friends, but they too have become highly preoccupied. All except for Ponyville's modest blonde-maned apple bucker. The two have never been really close, but who know what could happen over just a little bit of dirt?

Rarity always believed that she knew exactly who she was, what she wanted, and exactly how she would obtain it. Then she fell for somepony wholly unexpected: Applejack. When unhappy tidings call Rarity to the frozen North to spend the Hearth's Warming holiday with her relatives, Applejack accompanies her into the family fray.

The ponies arrive in Whinnyapolis at a time of endings, and find that relationships can be fragile things, vulnerable to the cold. Rarity will search her past for the key to her future, but the old house at Maple Cove may not hold all the answers she needs. Perhaps, though, two ponies will learn that there really is no place like home for the holidays.

They may have only known each other for a short while, but in reality their relationship goes back years, and they don’t even know it! Stretching through their lives, they find that one recurring trend – each other.

But, although they always part, it can be certain that they’ll always … meet again.

Rarity has found that she's fallen in love with one of her best friends. Well, there a few things that can be done in a situation like this: Try and push the feelings aside for the sake of your friendship, or you just tell them how you feel and hope for the best. In Rarity's case, she decides to go with the latter. After considering the ways AJ could react, or the way it could affect their friendship, she decides she wants to let her feelings be known regardless if they're returned or not.

Though, she'd prefer that they were returned.
