Tartarus. A burning plane of existence made to punish the damned and evil. And ruling over this pit of hellfire is Hades, Lord of the Dead and God of the Underworld. And while torturing souls and abusing his two minions Pain and Panic are always good fun, he's grown bored. With his plans to rule Olympus and destroy Hercules down the tube, he needs a new aspiration in his un-life. And since he needs to buy some groceries, Ponyville seems like the perfect place to go shopping. And maybe make an ally or two for his newest plan to take over Olympus. If he doesn't burn them all to a crisp and steal their souls first.

My name's John. I guess my last name doesn't really matter any more. Life is ironic, isn't it? Life nurtures all kinds of species that can get along, but it also creates the species that kills others. In fact, there are some species, who's sole purpose is the death of everything but itself. I'm talking about diseases, of course. Viruses, bacteria, fungi, and even parasites. All my life, I found these things interesting. I loved studying them, so naturally I grew up to be an epidemiologist. When I wasn't studying diseases or doing other basic functions, I was playing one of my favorite games, Plague Inc. It's a game where you try to wipe out humanity using diseases. Over the years, I've become a master of the game, to the point where it isn't really a challenge anymore.

But, that all changed when the game sucked me into itself, and I wind up in a strange land, with even stranger creatures. But that isn't all. I've somehow gained the ability to create and control every single disease I can think of. Now, I have to survive in this harsh world, knowing that I'm one step away from wiping out the entire planet.

Like I said, life is ironic, right?

To any newcomers reading this fic, I want to point this out. The story may seem confusing in the first five chapters, as I was trying to figure out how I want to write the story. I won't be getting rid of any chapters, but some small points might contradict each other across both of them. These points hopefully won't affect much of the future.

A burst of energy from the heavens, felt by every being from Discord himself to the little foal crying next door. Mysterious golden rings rained from the sky, dropping to Equestria, almost as if with a purpose. With rings scattered throughout the lands, all holding untold power, the Princesses send for an immediate investigation, including themselves and the Mane Six.

What secrets do the rings hold? Who or what sent them to Equestria, if anything at all? Would they prove a threat to the nation? Despite their awesome power and years of experience, nopony, be it the Princesses, the Elements of Harmony, or even Discord, had been prepared for what was to come.

So, a Pokémon crossover! And game-centric, so don't expect anything from the anime to pop up. Not certain whether humans will pop up at all, though it's 50/50 in my head right now. The name and cover art aren't my final choices, though I'm not sure what I have in mind.

I'm the only one that's edited this, and while I do personally think I'm a fairly good editor, a nitpicky person, and one with high expectations too, I know for a fact I tend to become blind when it's my own work. So, feel free to tell me why this story sucks. But don't tell me that the story sucks. Kay? Just why would really be nice.

Arby's is a fast food chain dedicated to "Having the Meats". When one of these chains expands it's way into Ponyville, most ponies are both skeptical and nauseous. Some however, are eager to try new things.

Which member of the royal family will get hopelessly hooked on this stuff?

How long before eating meat is considered "normal" by Equestrian standards? It would have to be soon, because a certain carnivorous princesses one goal is to raise awareness that eating meat is not really a big deal.

Lake Superior they say never gives up her dead, when the gales of November come early...

Or does she? The ship and crew that braved the storm went down, what if the crew wound up you-know-where?

The Everfree is loaded with dangerous beasts and critters. From manticores that could end a life with one injection of its tail venom, to towering hydras that could swallow a pony whole.

To the ponies, this is a nightmarish land to never, ever set hoof in.

To a hunter, it is paradise.

When Fluttershy nearly gets mauled by another dangerous inhabitant of the Everfree, the deadliest, unknowing to him, ends up saving her from death. Fluttershy realizes too late, that the one who had saved her was nothing more than the kinds of people who she has the lowest of low opinion on.

And she has just met the most dangerous one of Equestria.
