It's amazing how something small and seemingly meaningless can lead to things greater than anypony could imagine. That's what this should have been: Nothing more than a simple explosion and a fire in Ponyville, and the tragic death of miss Amethyst 'Sparkler' Star. Nopony could have guessed that in the aftermath of such a tragedy, an era of Equestria's history long since erased would be revealed.

History is about to be rewritten. And the Fallen Kingdom cometh.

The first part of the Kingdom Come Saga. Other writers will be writing other stories that tie in with this one, and I will provide links wherever it might be useful to read them, in order to get the full story. And so what starts as a simple research trip is soon to escalate into the greatest journey of the young ponies' lives, filled with new friends and foes, incredible danger and great adventure!

NOTE: While I do appreciate all comments I get on this story, I would personally prefer if they could say a little more than the typical "Awesome chapter, I love it!" or whatever. Ten years after a massive war, Equestria has changed. The Empire now rules over all, giving peace and prosperity to those that deserve it, but some are against this new rulership.
The CMC, a small, raggedy group of smugglers working for the Apple family, are caught red-hoofed by an Imperial patrol. As the friends fight for their lives, they learn about themselves, each other, and the world they now reside in.
Meanwhile, in Canterlot, Emperor Blueblood has amassed a massive fleet and is preparing to smash what is left of the rebellion under the oppressive hoof of his Empire.
