Redback Spino

T

It's amazing how something small and seemingly meaningless can lead to things greater than anypony could imagine. That's what this should have been: Nothing more than a simple explosion and a fire in Ponyville, and the tragic death of miss Amethyst 'Sparkler' Star. Nopony could have guessed that in the aftermath of such a tragedy, an era of Equestria's history long since erased would be revealed.

History is about to be rewritten. And the Fallen Kingdom cometh.

The first part of the Kingdom Come Saga. Other writers will be writing other stories that tie in with this one, and I will provide links wherever it might be useful to read them, in order to get the full story. If you are interested in joining the Kingdom Come project, PM me and tell me what you'd be interested in working on.

I will also be adding characters on the characters list as they appear.

Chapters (8)
Comments ( 42 )

And by the time this ends, this will seem almost tame.

"…4, 2, 6, 6.”
Can't help but notice that 4+2 is 6, and the other two numbers are 6 and 6... was it intentional that these resemble the Number of the Beast?

Also, I like your style. Curious to see how it plays out.

Oh, my. This is very much not good. They might know what they're up against but they don't yet know who they're fighting.

2929077 Oh believe me. When the rest of the Others are gathered, Blueblood will be the least of their troubles...

Well, now. The Emotional Spectrum.....that must mean that we're in for a War of Light....and a Blackest Night.

Really, really interesting story so far. Very sad too. Just a comment, in the third section when Rainbow is talking to Derpy, you actually call her Ditzy twice instead of Derpy.

Ditzy continued, “Well, when you get there, could you find out if the children are okay?! I mean, this whole fire was really sudden, and the kids would have been walking home from school around now and the way from the schoolhouse goes down that street and-”

and

Ditzy nodded, and with one last grateful smile at the rainbow-hued Pegasus, she flew back into the fray of smoke, fire and shouting.

I know Ditzy was another version of her name, I was just wondering if you wanted to keep it consistent  Otherwise, just ignore this. Good story!

Blueblood talking to his magic evil amulet buddy is hilarious. The brewing plot is interesting too, if a little slowmoving, but the dialogue is entertainign to make up for it!

Sombra and Chrysalis and Blueblood in one team?
Instant fave:pinkiehappy:

3138629 Just wait until you see the last 2 members of the team. Heck, just wait until you see who's in charge!

Sombra and Chrysalis didn't surprise me all that much, but Blueballs did. The other two I can't rightly guess who they're going to be...

Oh, sweet mamma jamma....EITHER they're going after one of the CMC (which would be bad) OR they're going to exploit mother's love for their own nefarious ends (which would be REALLY BAD!!!)

Have you ever considered submitting this story to Equestria Daily? You can find out how to do so here.

3277949 I have tried before, but they rejected it for various reasons. Most of them were easy fixes, but at that time I was feeling lazy, so I didn't follow up on it.
But since I'm starting uni tomorrow, I might be slowing down chapter production, so instead I might just go back through it all and fix up the entire thing as best I can for submission.

If the Mysterious Voice was voiced, what would it sound like? I was thinking this.

3237547 Mother? What mother? I know you're not talking about the OC Sada-Pazaki made! ...I think. Are you talking about one of the mothers from the Pony POV Series?

Why is the opposite of the Element of Magic Despair? Shouldn't "loneliness" be better, as the polar opposite of friendship? (Because magic represents friendship in this setting.)

3288044 Yeah, that's pretty much spot on, though I imagined it with a more British accent.

3288049 The Book of Revelations. It's an easy way to make your story look more intelligent than it probably is: Using Biblical references.

3288215 Oh no no, the Element of Despair is the counterpart for the Element of Laughter. The Master's element is the counterpart to Magic: The Element of Death itself. Basically:
Loyalty/Treachery
Honesty/Deception
Laughter/Despair
Kindness/Cruelty.
Generosity/Greed
Magic/Death

3306211 Well, because in my headcanon of Equestrian magic, while Friendship and Love are two of the strongest sources of magical power, Life itself is actually the most common source. Every living thing generates a certain amount of magic, it's only magical creatures like draconequi, unicorns, alicorns and suchlike that can actually harness it. Death is the only thing that can actually completely nullify one's magic.

Plus, the Element of Death just sounds better than the Element of Anti-Magic.

3288049 I believe they're from the Book of Revelations from the Bible.

Liking this so far.
Just one thing, in the second diary entry with Rumble finding the gem, you start off saying it was an emerald, then change to saying it was an uncut ruby. Was this intentional or just a mistake?
Either way, keep it up. :pinkiehappy:

Oh, my. It would appear that someone:eeyup: is about to do something rash........

3733132 Yeah, this is the kinda storytelling you're gonna have to live up to if you're joining the project.

As e said the final words of the incantation, he could hear the voice of the Amulet chanting along with him:

That 'e' should be 'he', right?

And this is very interesting. Looking forward to read the rest.

Allons-y!

“Scoot! Applebloom wailed. “What’s happenin’?! What is this?!”

Error in sentence formatting??

Also nice explanation for the Elements of Dissonance, although I was thinking of Derpy for Despair (Never read the comics, my country doesn't sell them...)

damit all why'd the story have to be put on several year hiatus!!!!

Wow. This story is really impressive. It handles the side by side story telling really well, better than most do. While I can't honestly say I cried in this story, the emotion is still captured really well. This was a truly interesting and unexpected plot twist, too. There are a few errors here and there, but that can be forgiven. It seems to be on a rather lengthy hiatus. Are there any plans for continuation?
