When she arrives, it takes a bit more than mere liquid courage to elicit her confession.

Browsing back through, years after my last story, I discovered I had never published this one! So, here's a thing.

Celestia loves Twilight Sparkle. That is a fact, an indisputable constant of the universe. What that love means, however, is much less certain. The love of a teacher. The love of a friend. The love that Celestia dares not name. Every tick of the clock demands her answer, for while Celestia is timeless, Twilight is not.

Celestia has only a single lifetime to make her decision, but Twilight will wait. She always has, and she always will.

In Equestria, Princess Celestia struggles with feelings she thought conquered long ago as she is torn between anger at the past, guilt in the present, and hope for the future.

All the bits of my stories and discards that, for one reason or another, just didn't work out. Stuff that went nowhere, deleted scenes, ideas I started to write out but abandoned, and deleted chapters from Entanglement.

Queen Chrysalis broods over her defeat at the hooves of Ponykind. Her race on the verge of starvation, she receives news that could prove to be the salvation or destruction of her kind; Celestia has arrived, and she wants to talk.

Prayer is the last refuge of the desperate, and Celestia is beyond desperation. Out of options, she chooses to chase a half-remembered prophecy to lands far beyond her own.

Nobody wanted it. American soldiers in Equestrian streets. Hundreds, thousands of dead. A city in ruins.

Nobody wanted this.

This is not a story about closure or healing. A traumatized soldier is NOT taken to Equestria to heal his war-torn soul. This is a story about an unfortunate series of events that get a whole lot of ponies and people killed.
